<Synopsis of "Magical Girls: The Daily Lives of Liz and Narby

Liz and Nalby meet as classmates at a magic school. Liz is called the genius magical girl since the founding of the school, and Nalby is a gifted magical girl. Liz is the best in practical skills, but she is not good in academic subjects, and Nalby can never beat Liz in practical skills, but she always gets a perfect score in academic subjects. The two become a good pair.

After graduating from school, the two become official mages and start working as adventurers. They live in separate houses and are not members of any guilds, but they find themselves becoming high-stakes quest trolls, always completing the highest-paying quests together. Although they are newcomers, they are already renowned as the strongest duo in the adventuring world, but a glimpse into their interactions reveals the nosy Nalby, who is constantly giving Liz a hard time for her overly genius, outlandish words and actions.

Their daily life together, which to the outsider looks like a comic dialogue, brings laughter to the earth!

Interview with Aoi Koga, who plays Liz, after recording

--How do you feel after finishing the post-recording?

I am filled with a sense of exhilaration.

At first, I was told that the dialogue would be like daily conversation, so I didn't expect it to be such a speedy comic dialogue. (Laughter)

(Laughs) I managed to get through it with my head on a swivel...!

--(Laughs) - It was a comic dialogue between magical girls, was there anything different from your usual postrecording for anime and games? Was there anything you paid attention to in your performance?

There are fast-paced animated films, but I got the impression that the speed and tempo of the story could only be achieved by a manzai.

I always tried to keep the characters in character without losing the sense of speed, and also to make a strong impression of the two characters by making a clear difference between them and their counterparts! I was always thinking about this as I played the role.

--By the way, do you usually watch comedy shows or videos? If you have a favorite comedian, please let us know.

I love comedians and comedy shows!
Recently, I've been watching Heroine at 3 o'clock and Boru Juku a lot.

--What was your impression of the character you played? What was your impression of the other character?

At first, I thought she was very cute and "the heroine".
But as I read through the script, I thought she was a tricky girl who suddenly said something out of the ordinary, and from there I thought about how to make her jump out of the screen in a natural way.

Naruby was very easy to play because the character's personality and Asahina's performance matched each other so well.

I was so impressed with her spirit and passion to go all out at that speed that I was worried my vocal cords would tear to shreds. Thank you very much. (Laughter)

They are from the same office and the same age. (Laughs) We are both from the same office and the same age! Please tell us if there is anything that you were able to do because you were able to play together.

Actually, we had not acted together before, so it was a fresh experience for me, and I was very happy. It was fresh, but also trusting, so I was able to challenge myself while doing it without being so nervous, and I think that was because it was Asahina-chan.

--I think it was a great challenge for me to do it.

It was when Liz was upset with Nalby and her personality changed drastically. I really enjoyed the moment when she reveals a side of herself that is like a different person, because it was so liberating. It was a story that made me think that there is more to her than this.

--If there were to be more episodes in the future, what kind of episodes would you like to play?

I would like to see Liz's personality change in a different way, as I mentioned earlier. I think it would be interesting to see an episode in which Liz becomes a comedian. I think it would be interesting to see an episode in which Liz is the one who makes the commentary, but ends up with Nalby making the commentary. (Laughs)

I also think it would be fun to have a new character or a trio of comedians.

--Lastly, do you have a message for the audience?
My name is Aoi Koga, and I play the role of Liz. As of this moment, I don't know how it will turn out, and I am very nervous.

I hope you will simply enjoy the dialogue between the two of us. Will there be more to come? I hope you will enjoy it!

Interview with Maruka Asahina, who plays Nalby

--How did you feel after finishing the recording?

I had been giving it my all from the test, so I used a lot of energy, and I think that may have contributed to making a very energetic Narubee! I was so exhausted that I couldn't even laugh. (Laughter)

--(Laughs) - It was a comic dialogue between magical girls, but was there anything different from your usual postrecording for anime and games? Also, was there anything you paid attention to in your performance?

I had to imagine the situation of the story, but at the same time, I had to have an atmosphere as if I was doing it with only one microphone, so it was different from what I usually do.

I had to be very careful to keep the tension and momentum, but also to keep the lines in sync, but not overlapping. The other thing was the tempo of the comedy! Rhythm! That's right!

--By the way, do you usually watch comedy shows or videos? If you have any favorite comedians, please let us know.

I like Tokyo03 and Rainbow. I'm sorry to even say this, but... their plays are funny, charming, and have calculated pauses... I laugh a lot and learn a lot from them!

--What was your impression of the character you played? What was your impression of the character you played and what was your impression of the other character?

Normally, I am a firm and serious girl, but when I am with Liz, I feel that I don't have to be a good girl, or that I can take a little weight off my shoulders.

That's why she is so fierce with her tsukkomi. I hope it was a stress reliever!

As for Liz, she's a S. She enjoys Narby's reactions. But even though she says mean things, I'm sure she cares about Narby. ...Yeah, you think...? Hey!

--they are the same age in the same office. We were able to do this because we were able to play a role together as two people who know each other well! Please let us know if there is anything that you could have done better because you two knew each other.

We know each other well, so we were able to do it without hesitation... We have the trust that no matter how we throw something, it will come back to us, so we were able to do our best.

But in fact, it had been quite a while since we had done a dialogue, so I don't think either of us could have imagined how the other would come up with a play. It was fun and fresh.

--I think it was a lot of fun.

I would have to say "The Handsome Brave Man." The way Nalby is thrilled to meet the man of her age, the way Liz's eyes don't seem to light up, the way her hand flips out when she hears all kinds of things... I like the lines alone. My favorite line by itself is "I think that's a different cocoa related one!" I like the line "I think it's related to a different Cocoa! I am always on edge because there are so many different things in the story. LOL!

--If there were to be more episodes in the future, what kind of episodes would you like to play?

Please...I want to make Liz say "Gyanfun" just once...! I would like to meet her brother, since he is set up as a black guy.

--Lastly, do you have a message for the viewers?

I hope that when you are going through a tough time, you will remember that on some planet, Liz is making fun of things and Nalby is making fun of things and making a big fuss about it. It is the kind of work that makes you laugh and lightens your heart. If you laugh, it will make it worthwhile for Nalby and me to put our best foot forward!

Please take a peek into Liz and Narby's daily life and laugh a lot.
