Unemployed Reincarnation: I'll get serious if I go to another world" was a big hit on the novel submission site "Shosetsu-ka-roro" (Novelist's Letter). A 34-year-old unemployed man (from a previous life) is reincarnated into another world where swords and magic exist after a traffic accident. He is named "Rudeus" and vows to overcome the trauma of his previous life and live hard.

In the second season, which started in October, the stage is moved to the Demon Continent, where he goes on a new journey with Eris, a girl swordsman, and Ruijerd, a demon tribe member.

We interviewed Ms. Yumi Uchiyama, who plays the role of Rudeus, and Ms. Ai Kakuma, who plays the role of Eris!

--The second season has finally started.

UCHIYAMA: It has been a long time coming for our fans. However, since re-runs and one-time broadcasts have been held on various distribution and broadcasting media, I think there have been many opportunities for you to see the series.

Kakuma: From the beginning, the storyline has developed in such a way that you can understand the characters who played an active role in the first episode. The content is very impressive!

--I heard that there were many compliments on the "beauty of the images" in the first course.

Uchiyama I was glad to hear that many people said, "I will wait forever if you can produce it with such high quality.

I keep asking them, "Is it possible to see "Unemployed Reincarnation" in movie theaters?" I think it is such a valuable image. I keep saying, "Can't you see 'Unemployment Reincarnation' in a movie theater? I think the people and backgrounds are so beautifully depicted that it makes you wonder if such a world actually exists.

Kakuma: It makes me think that I should buy a 4K or 8K TV for my house (laughs), and it makes me want to enjoy the work as much as possible. I am fascinated by the way the world of swords and magic is expressed in the images.

--Mr. Uchiyama, are you able to do postrecording together with Mr. Tomokazu Sugita, who plays the role of the "preternatural man"?

Uchiyama: In this day and age, it is still difficult to record with a large number of people. I have been able to communicate with the members of Dead End (the name of the party of Rudeus and his friends), but it is not so easy with Mr. Sugita. So, I have been trying to play the role of Mr. Sugita, referring to the first episode, thinking, "How would Mr. Sugita play this role? I try to think about how Sugita-san would play the role.

--Are there any points that you pay attention to in your acting?

Uchiyama: In the second cool, Rudeus, who had been thinking "I'll do something about it," came to trust Ellis and Ruijerd, the members of Dead End, so I try my best to express that in my performance.

Kakuma: Elise takes Roudeas as her tutor, and after she has experienced his greatness firsthand, she becomes hostile toward anyone who tries to attack him. Like Uchiyama-san, I would like to play her change of mind well.

Please also pay attention to the growth of characters other than Rudeus!

--Is there any character that you are interested in in the second season?

Uchiyama: I am interested in the party of Roxy and her friends (Rudius' teachers). They are working separately at the moment, but I am looking forward to seeing how they will get involved with the dead-enders. Also, I was touched by the scene where Ruijerd, who was initially incompatible with Rudeus, came to think in a way that was friendly to him.

Kakuma: This is Xirika Xiris. She appeared briefly in the first cool, but she is a strong character, so I would like you to pay attention to how she plays her part in the story.

--Lastly, could you tell us about the highlights of the second cool?

Kakuma: I would like people to pay attention to how Eris, who has always been on the receiving end of something, will change. That's what I want people to pay attention to. As for Rudius, fans who have been watching over him since he was a baby, please enjoy his journey from various perspectives!

Uchiyama I also think that Elise's growth has been remarkable. I think you will be able to see her from a more parental point of view than with Rudeus, and I would like you to pay attention to the relationship between them. Even though Rudeus is the main character in the story, each character's growth is also described in detail, so please look forward to their changes as well!
