The theme song of "Sumikko Gurashi: The Movie" is sung by BUMP OF CHICKEN!

Sumikko Gurashi: The Movie" will be released in theaters nationwide on November 5, 2021 (Friday), with the theme song "Small world" by BUMP OF CHICKEN.

Sumikko Gurashi: Blue Moonlight Mahouko," which will be released nationwide. Sumikko Gurashi, a slightly negative but unique character, was released in 2012 by San-X Corporation, known for "Tarepanda" and "Rilakkuma," and will celebrate its 10th anniversary next year in 2022.

Sumikko Gurashi the Movie: Blue Moonlight Magical Girl" will be released to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Sumikko Gurashi the Movie. Continuing from the previous film, narration will be provided by Yoshihiko Inohara and Manami Honjo. They encourage Sumikko and her friends, prod them, and sometimes speak for their feelings, gently watching over their story again.

When director Takahiro Omori, producers, and other staff unanimously agreed to the theme song after hearing the wishes of the original author Yuri Yokomizo, who is a fan of BUMP OF CHICKEN. The decision was made possible after Takahiro Omori, the director, producer, and other staff members unanimously agreed to the song.

The theme song "Small world" is a medium number with a beautiful band sound and gentle singing voice. The song gently accompanies Sumiko and the audience, enriching the world of the movie.

A 30-second trailer with the theme song and comments from BUMP OF CHICKEN and Yuri Yokomizo, the author of the original story, have now been released. The new song "Small world" will be performed for the first time in this trailer, so be sure to check it out.

BUMP OF CHICKEN's songs have always encouraged and influenced me, as if they were there next to me when I was feeling down, telling me it's okay and that we are all the same.
Sumikko Gurashi is a character that I created with the hope that she would be the same kind of person who would be there for me, so I was very moved to see that our feelings for Sumikko Gurashi overlapped.
