Operation Gundam R (Recycle) has begun! Admission free "Sustainable Day" at "GUNDAM FACTORY YOKOHAMA" will be held on November 3 (Wed., national holiday)!

On November 3, 2021 (Wednesday, national holiday), "Sustainability Day" will be held at "Gundam Factory Yokohama" with free admission.

The BANDAI NAMCO Group launched the "Gunpla Recycling Project" on April 1, 2021, as an activity to raise awareness of recycling through Gundam.

The project aims to collect the runners (the frames of plastic models) of the Gundam series plastic models, "Gundam Model Kits," and turn them into new plastic model products through chemical recycling, a state-of-the-art technology.

From October 20 (Wed.), "Operation Gundam R (Recycle)" will be held at various locations in Japan to provide an opportunity to learn about recycling by distributing free Gundam plastic model experience kits and special booklets of "Ecopla" plastic models made from recycled materials, in order to familiarize people with recycling through hands-on experience.

The "Sustainable Day" on November 3 (Wed., national holiday) will be held in conjunction with "Operation Gundam R" at "GUNDAM FACTORY YOKOHAMA," a facility where visitors can experience a full-scale Gundam powered by 100% renewable energy, to further increase interest in recycling.

Admission will be free all day (10:00 - 20:00, last admission at 19:00), and "Ecopla 1/144 RX 782 Gundam Assembly Experience Ver." will be distributed free of charge to the first 7,200 visitors (6 years old and over) at the facility.
In addition, a collection box will be set up in the facility to collect runners after assembling Gunpla.
You can also collect runners of Gundam plastic models you have at home.

This is a fun way to learn about recycling through Gunpla while experiencing a "life-size" moving Gundam, so why not participate in the "Sustainable Day"?

What is Ecopla?
BANDAI SPIRITS aims to use recycled materials for all plastic models for the future. Ecopla" is a plastic model made from recycled plastic from the production process of plastic models and runners collected from fans through the "Gunpla Recycle Project". We will continue to promote the reuse of plastic. We will display the "Ecopla mark" on the packages of products that use recycled materials for some parts.
Since the color of "eco plastic" changes depending on the molding color of the collected runners, it is mainly used with black coloring, but colorful colors can be reproduced by sorting at the time of collection. We will continue to conduct demonstration tests for further utilization.
