Celebratory tapestry for the 100th volume of "Detective Conan" appears at the Tottori Sand Dune Conan Airport!

A tapestry was unveiled at the Tottori Sand Dunes Conan Airport to commemorate the 100th volume of "Detective Conan," a work by Gosho Aoyama, a manga artist from Tottori Prefecture.

Detective Conan," written by Gosho Aoyama, a manga artist from Tottori Prefecture, has been serialized in Weekly Shōnen Sunday since 1994, and this year marks the 28th year since its first issue.

On October 18, 2021 (Monday), Detective Conan, such an extremely popular manga, will finally achieve the feat of publishing its 100th comic book volume.

Tottori Prefecture has decided to display a "100th volume celebration tapestry" at the Tottori Sand Dunes Conan Airport to honor and celebrate this joyous event, and will hold an unveiling ceremony on Monday, October 18. A "Twitter Follow & Retweet Campaign" will be held on October 18 (Mon.) to commemorate the event and win Conan goods by drawing lots.

Left half: 100th volume commemorative logo
The logo commemorating the 100th volume of Detective Conan comics is used. Illustration depicts Conan-kun holding up the number 100. The small body of Conan lifting the large number "100" with his utmost effort is both endearing and reminds us of the weight of the achievement of reaching 100 volumes.

Half right: Introduction of Tottori Sand Dunes Conan Airport
The main visual of Tottori Sand Dunes Conan Airport (Conan and Ran-chan in their school uniforms), the "symbolic objet d'art," which is an objet d'art based on the main visual, and the "Akai Shuichi Color Objet," a popular character newly introduced this spring, are all introduced. The main visual was newly drawn by Mr. Aoyama on the occasion of the nicknaming.

■Renewed Conan Train "Detective Cars" are now in operation!
The "Conan Train" running mainly between Tottori and Yonago on the JR Sanin Honsen Line has been renewed with a new "Detective Car" design. Eight new characters, including Toru Amuro and Heiji Hattori, have been added to the train under the theme of "All the Detectives".
A departure ceremony was held at Tottori Station on Saturday, September 18, 2021, to the delight of many fans.

<What is Tottori Sand Dunes Conan Airport?
The airport is located in Tottori City, Tottori Prefecture, and mainly handles scheduled passenger flights to and from Haneda Airport. The legal name of the airport is "Tottori Airport," but in March 2015 it was nicknamed "Tottori Sand Dunes Conan Airport" in reference to the nearby Tottori Sand Dunes, a major tourist attraction in Tottori City, and the fact that Gosho Aoyama, the author of the "Detective Conan" manga, is from Hokuei-cho, Tottori Prefecture. The airport is decorated with various decorations related to Detective Conan, including the unique colored objects of Conan-kun and Ran-chan, and the popular character Akai Shuichi, which are not to be missed.
