Tokyo Game Show 2021, the world's largest game trade fair, was held from September 30 to October 3, 2021.

For the first time in two years, the show was held for real visitors (only press reporters and influencers were allowed to enter), and many topical and new games were available for test play.

It's been a little while since the event, but here are some of the new games that the Akiba Research Institute editorial staff was particularly interested in! We hope you enjoy them as much as we did.

AWAY" is an action adventure game set in a future wilderness where humans once existed. The game features an unusual narration reminiscent of nature documentaries.

Players take control of a young black-tailed flying squirrel that has been forced to leave its nest, and explore an island overflowing with nature in search of a safe haven.

When hungry, they search for food and sometimes face threats such as natural disasters, natural enemies, and predators.

On the playtest table, we were able to enjoy many scenes unique to this game, such as controlling a young black-tailed flying squirrel that sets off with its mother, searching for food, fighting poisonous black widow spiders, and gliding through the air.

The game was developed by a developer who originally worked on the "Assassin's Creed" and "Far Cry" series at Ubisoft.

The game's detailed CG and the fun of freely walking around the field are similar to those in the "Assassin's Creed" series. However, I was impressed by the fact that the viewpoint is that of a small animal, which makes the game experience completely different from that of previous titles.

Although things have calmed down, we still live in a world that can't be caught off guard by the Corona disaster. If you feel a bit uncomfortable going out ......, why not try this title and roam around in the great outdoors as much as you like?
