New Game Review] Control the battle dog from "Metal Max" and complete missions! Enjoy hard-hitting gunfights while loving doggies in the rogue light action "METAL DOGS"!

Tokyo Game Show 2021, the world's largest game trade fair, was held from September 30 to October 3, 2021.

For the first time in two years, the show was held for real visitors (only press reporters and influencers were allowed to enter), and many topical and new games were available for test play.

It's been a little while since the event, but here are some of the new games that the Akiba Research Institute editorial staff was particularly interested in! We hope you enjoy them as much as we did.

The "Metal Max" series, a one-of-a-kind genre of western-style military RPGs set in the near future, still has a strong fan base. METAL DOGS" is a rogue light action game based on that worldview. The game is scheduled to be released this winter by Kadokawa Games.

In the "Metal Max" series, "Pochi," a "dog armed with firearms" or "battle dog," was active in the series, and this is an action game in which the player controls Pochi to complete missions.

The player selects a mission and goes out into the field. The story unfolds as the player controls Pochi, a burly, armed dog, to defeat monsters and bounty hunters familiar to the series.

As in the "Metal Max" series, the main character is a poochie armed with machine guns and missiles.

The player simply presses the button corresponding to the weapon to fire it! Don't forget to reload when you've fired all your bullets.

Since this is a roguelite game, you can collect items while defeating the many enemies that roam the randomly generated field.

The field may also contain a vicious monster called "WANTED. Some quests do not require the defeat of WANTED as a condition for completion, but it is possible to challenge them on a dare!

In the quest we tried this time, a WANTED "Pom Pom King" appeared, which is not a clear condition.
