Production of "BIRDIE WING", an original animation of girls' coming-of-age story based on the brilliant and intense game of girls' golf, is decided!

Production of a new animation "BIRDIE WING -Golf Girls' Story-" with women's golf as its theme has been announced.

Namco Bandai Pictures has decided to produce a new animation "BIRDIE WING -Golf Girls' Story-" with women's golf as its theme.

Scheduled to air in 2022, this original animation series depicts a coming-of-age story about the encounter between two female golfers, based on the theme of "golf," which is gaining popularity as a sport of the Corona disaster, against the backdrop of the recent success of Japanese professional players.

The main staff includes Takayuki Inagaki ("Ninja Box," "Sunabozu") as director and Yosuke Kuroda ("Mobile Suit Gundam 00," "My Hero Academia") as series composition.

The main characters "Eve" and "Aoi Amawashi" are voiced by Akari Kito and Asami Seto. Toru Inoue, a professional golf coach and the Japanese national coach for the World Junior Golf Championships, will be supervising the golfers in the film.

The theme song will be sung by Ms. Kami Hirose, who has written numerous hit songs.

Expectations are high for the future development of this project, which aims to contribute to the expansion of golf fans while depicting the wonder of sports and "dreams, excitement, and hope" through animation.

Toru Inoue (Golf Supervisor) Comment

As someone who grew up watching Showa-era golf cartoons as a child, I felt like I was destined to supervise "BIRDIE WING," a new golf animation by 2025.
I spent more than two years working on this work, including coming up with ideas from the story stage, revising golf terminology, and recording swing and hit ball sounds.
I hope that through this work, viewers will be able to experience the fun of the sport of golf and that as many people as possible will want to try golf.

When I was asked to write the theme song for this year's movie, I was so impressed by the story and the attitude of the characters toward their goals that I was able to write the song in no time at all.
I put my heart and soul into the song, and I also tried to arrange it with live strings.
I hope to infuse further momentum into "BIRDIE WING.

I hope to infuse "BIRDIE WING" with even more momentum.
