Directed by "King Kong: Giant God of Skulls" Vaught-Roberts
Since its debut in 1979, the enormously popular robot anime sci-fi series "Mobile Suit Gundam" has been loved across a variety of platforms, including animated TV series, manga, anime films, video games, plastic models, toys, novels, and other media. Legendary and Sunrise's creative team finally adapted the series into a live-action film!

Although details of the film version have not been disclosed, the original "Mobile Suit Gundam" series is set in the Space Century, when population growth has led to immigration to space colonies. As a war of independence is waged on Earth in search of self-government, the series delicately depicts the growth of the main characters and the thoughts of their enemies and the people around them through the tragedies and feuds that arise from the struggle of the human race. The popularity of the film lies not only in the battle scenes that unfold as the characters pilot mobile suits, but also in the depiction of their love and conflicts.
