The new "Pokemon" TV commercial "Happy Troubles, Cafe Arc" (15 and 30 seconds) featuring Alice Hirose has been released on the web video.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl" for Nintendo Switch will be released on November 19, 2021 (Fri.), and "Pokemon LEGENDS Arceus" will be released on January 28, 2022 (Fri.). The TV commercial is airing from November 19 (Fri.).

The commercial features Alice Hirose, who has publicly expressed her love of Pokemon games and has played "Pokemon Diamond Pearl. Ms. Hirose has been a big fan of Pokemon since she was in elementary school and actually played "Pokemon Diamond Pearl" released about 15 years ago. Since this was the commercial filming of the long-awaited remake, she practiced her lines repeatedly with a serious expression on her face, paying close attention to details such as facial expressions and gestures. She was so enthusiastic that when she got stuck on her lines several times during the production, the scene was filled with a cheerful atmosphere as she apologetically and cutely embarrassed herself. The director asked the actress to be more flexible in her delivery of the lines, and she was able to capture a variety of patterns, including the use of strong and weak phrases and lingering phrases. Ms. Hirose's rich facial expressions, from wide-eyed and appealing to cool and calm, were typical of her performance. After the interview, when she was given Pokemon goodies, she was so happy that even the staff around her started smiling, as she squealed with delight at her favorite Lizardon good.

Q. You have openly declared that you love Pokémon, so how did you feel when you were asked to do this commercial?
A. I was honestly very happy. I came from a family that didn't allow me to play games very much, but when I was little, I asked my parents for a lot. It seems I was the kind of kid who didn't make many requests, so my parents were surprised and bought it for me.

Q. How did you feel when "Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl," a remake of "Pokémon: Diamond Pearl" was announced?
A. I probably tweeted! I was so excited that I tweeted, "Of course, I will definitely get both of them! And I never thought I would be able to be involved in a job, so I am surprised and very happy to be in this situation.

Q. You brought with you "Pokémon Diamond Pearl," which was released in 2006, and a Nintendo DS console.
A. I don't remember the DS screen being this small! I was in the sixth grade at the time, and the only thing I was passionate about besides basketball was Pokemon. I miss the thickness of the screen, and the lack of a three-dimensional feel when I held it (laughs).

Q. "Pokemon LEGENDS Arceus" is an action RPG game, which is a hot topic among Pokemon fans.
A. In previous Pokemon games, I moved around in the grass, not knowing when a Pokemon would appear. This time, there are Pokémon and you have to move around to avoid being spotted by Pokémon, so I'm really looking forward to enjoying the feeling of being in the Pokémon world. I can't wait to play it!

Q. What are your plans for this winter? How do you usually spend Christmas and New Year's?
A. I am a complete shut-in! I've always been an indoor person, but this year I'm so immersed in games that I don't think I'll be able to live a proper life (laughs). I have a hobby room and I don't think I will ever come out of it.

Usually on Christmas and New Year's Eve, I'm usually either working or at home drinking a little early and going to bed before the countdown. I wake up in the morning and realize that the New Year has passed, but I don't do anything special and spend my time as I would on a normal holiday.

Q. In the commercial, you played a role of choosing between love and freedom.
A. Freedom！！！！！ I want to be a free person. I have always been a free person, so I would choose freedom 100% of the time (laughs).

Q. In this film, you played the role of a person who is shaken up by two new Pokemon games.
A. It's a small problem, but when I look down and play with my cell phone, my lower jaw sticks out. When I am playing games, my lower jaw is definitely showing (laughs). I am 27 years old now, so I would like to fix it...I may be playing games in my hobby room this winter with my lower jaw sticking out.

Q. How did you first start playing Pokémon games?
A. When I can remember, I watched Pokemon cartoons and knew about them originally, so I wanted a Pokemon game! I wanted to play! So when I entered elementary school, I asked my parents to buy me a copy of "Pokemon Advance Generation.

Q. What is your favorite Pokemon and why?
A. I like Lizardon and Mewtwo by far. I like their forms and visuals, and they were usually the first Pokémon in the game that I raised to level 100.

Q. If you were to compare yourself to a Pokémon, which Pokémon would you say you are?
A. Wow, I wonder. I don't think it's such a cute Pokémon (laughs) I definitely don't think it's like a coratta or something (laughs) What do you think you resemble?

Really? Then I'm very happy. It has a rough temperament, though! (In my head) I'm thinking of Ishitsubute. I still get Pokémon from the early days of the game... (laughs)
