Experience Eva in the real world! Ube City's 100th Anniversary Commemorative Event "Machi-Chu Evangelion" is now in effect!

In commemoration of the 10 billion yen box-office revenue of "Shin Evangelion the Movie" and the 100th anniversary of the city's incorporation, Ube City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, will hold a variety of Evangelion-related events under the title of "Machi Jeju Evangelion".

Shin Evangelion the Movie" was released in March of this year and became a blockbuster hit, grossing over 10 billion yen at the box office. The film's general director is Hideaki Anno, a native of Ube City, and JR Ube-Shinkawa Station was featured as one of the models for a stage in the film, which has increased interest in Ube City and attracted fans to the area since the film's release.

Director Anno has been cooperating with the city's city promotion as "Ube Hometown Ambassador," and events have been held to introduce Anno's films and other works.

This time, to commemorate the 10 billion yen box-office revenue of the film version and the 100th anniversary of the city's incorporation, various events related to Evangelion, one of Anno's works, will be held with the cooperation of JR West Ube Management Station, so be sure to check them out.

＜1 Smart Phone Stamp Rally
Riders of the JR Ube Line and JR Onoda Line will collect stamp points in a smartphone application and enter the stamp rally to win Evangelion-related goods and other prizes in a drawing.

(1) Download the dedicated "COCOAR" application to your smartphone.
(2) Go to the stamp spot, read the presented poster with your smartphone, and earn stamp points.

<2 Station stamps with Evangelion designs

Ube City and JR West jointly produced a station stamp (approx. 8 cm in diameter) with an Evangelion design and its mounting paper at JR Ube-Shinkawa Station.

(3) Installation hours: 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

A used stamp (approx. 2 cm in diameter) with an Evangelion design will also be produced for visitors to take home as a souvenir of their JR train tickets or admission tickets. If you wish to have a used stamp, please ask a station attendant.

＜3 Kaiyodo Evangelion Figure World

In cooperation with Kaiyodo Figure Museum Kurokabe (*), a diorama of Evangelion and figures including human-scale figures will be exhibited. A limited-edition goods store will also be held at the same time.

A ticket for "Kaiyodo Evangelion Figure World" or "Kaiyodo Nature World in Tokiwa Park" held at the Hands-on Learning Center Monsta during the same period will allow admission to both venues.
However, the following people are admitted free of charge.

(*) This is one of the museums exhibiting figures of Kaiyodo, a figure manufacturer world-famous for its realistic modeling and colors. The museum features over 4,000 works created by KAIYODO over the past 40 years, from the company's founding to its latest creations, in five permanent exhibition halls and in limited-time-only special exhibitions.

<4 Machuva Gourmet Fair

A gourmet fair will be held at restaurants in the city, offering Evangelion menus using local ingredients.
There is also a stamp rally where visitors can get original goods by ordering Evangelion menu items at participating restaurants.
