The 2nd [PATLABOR JUKU], Saturday, December 18! Why don't you make Patlabor with today's technology?
The second session of "PATLABOR JUKU," a web seminar to deepen academic and professional discussion on various social environmental events through "Mobile Police PATLABOR," will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021, from 3:00 p.m.
Mobile Police Patlabor" is a media mix project that depicts the daily life and activities of the "robot policeman"-Special Vehicle Division 2-as they confront a new social threat called "Reaver Crime" in the near future Tokyo, where the general-purpose humanoid work machine Reaver has become widespread, That is "Mobile Police Patlabor.
This work, created by "HEADGEAR," a unit formed by five creators, Masami Yuki, Yutaka Izubuchi, Kazunori Ito, Akemi Takada, and Mamoru Oshii, is a work with a novel perspective that depicts robots as a system, an elaborate depiction of Tokyo, and a drama that focuses on the daily lives of the characters with rich personalities. In 2018, the series celebrated its 30th anniversary, and many exhibitions and events were held to commemorate the anniversary, which were a great success. With a new project, "PATLABOR EZY," also on the horizon, "PATLABOR" continues to attract significant attention.
Patlabor Juku" is scheduled to be held four times a year. It is a web seminar that is one of the activities to share all the elements depicted in the work (cities, AI, robotics, mechanical engineering, police mechanisms, etc.) with experts in various fields, not only with fans of the anime, but also with intellectuals and students studying specialized fields. The second session of the web seminar will be held in December 18, 2012.
The second session will be held on December 18 (Sat.) from 15:00. The second session will consist of two parts.
The first half will focus on the question, "Will the Tama area, a futuristic city, be the stage for PATLABOR?" In the second half, Keiji Mitsuyuki, Tokyo Branch Manager of Denso Corporation, a global automotive parts manufacturer, will be invited to talk about "What if we really build Reaver?" with reference to internal documents of Ingram. The talk will be based on Ingram's internal documents and other information.
This is the second installment of the web seminar, which was well received at the first seminar, and is an academic examination of the social environment in Japan 10 years in the near future as depicted in "Mobile Police PATLABOR". This time, the theme will be "Making Patlabor" with experts from auto parts manufacturers, and the world view of the "Tama area" as the setting for Patlabor will also be discussed.
