PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS" will move to a free-to-play service on January 12, 2022!

At The Game Awards 2021 on December 10, 2021, KRAFTON, Inc. announced that PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS will transition to a free-to-play service on PC and consoles. A new era of the popular battle royale game is dawning.

PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS" is a battle royale game in which up to 100 players survive until the "last man standing. The surviving player's screen will display the message "I won! I won! I'm going to win dinner! is displayed on the screen of the surviving player.

When it appeared on Steam Early Access in 2017, it popularized the battle royale game genre and sold over 75 million copies on PC and consoles. It has become one of the best-selling games of all time.

Nearly five years after its launch, "PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS" continues to expand from its initial success and evolve with consistent in-game updates that include new maps, game modes, and gameplay features.

■Transition to the free-to-play service begins January 12, 2022.
The transition will introduce BATTLEGROUNDS Plus, an optional upgrade to a premium account, which will allow access to a variety of new and exclusive in-game features.

All players will start with a Basic account with access to most game features, but can upgrade to "BATTLEGROUNDS Plus" for a one-time fee of $12.99 to take advantage of the following features

If you have already purchased PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS before moving to the free-to-play service, you will receive an automatic account upgrade to BATTLEGROUNDS Plus, Battle-Hardened costume skin set, Shackle and Shanks Legacy Pan, and a "PUBG - SPECIAL COMMEMORATIVE PACK" that includes a Battle-Hardened Legacy nameplate.

In addition, a pre-registration event to celebrate the transition to the free-to-play service, a PUBG play style diagnostic, and a friend invitation event will be available on the event website (https://pre-reg.pubg.com) over the next few weeks, and the event rewards will be a spectacular lineup.
