[One lucky winner will be chosen by drawing! It will surely be hot blooded with morets! I assembled the "Granscacher" from the latest "NG Knight Ramune & 40FX"! Taiyuki's Weekend Plastic Modeling No. 42

When you are a working adult, you tend to have a lot of plastic models piled up in your busy life. ...... In this series, Yasuyuki Tai, a voice actor who loves robots and plastic models, takes on the challenge of building plastic models on your behalf!

The concept is "even busy working people can make it this far on their weekends off. There are only two rules: bare bones assembly and a production period of one to two days! If you read this series, you will surely find the plastic model you want to build.

So, "Weekend Plastic Model Making by Voice Actor Taiyuki! Weekend Plastic Model! The 42nd issue has begun!

The 42nd Granskasher

This time we would like to introduce a plastic kit "Granskasher" related to the animation "NG Knight Ramune & 40" that was aired on TV Tokyo from 1990 to 1991!

When you hear the name, you may think "Huh? It's not King Scascher? Some of you may be thinking, "Oh, it's not King Scashers?

The "Ramune & 40" BD-BOX was released in 2020 to commemorate the 30th anniversary, and then a brand new story was announced, mainly through the official "NG Knight Ramune & 40" BD-BOX Twitter page!

The title is "NG Knight Ramune & 40 FX (F-Cross).

The story takes place right after "DX," which was developed in 1993. The one who appears in the story is this time Granskasher.

First of all, the package illustration.

The newly drawn illustration is by Kotaro Ando (Studio GS).

It is amazing to see the profile of Granskasher floating on a glossy black background! This design is not a "new model of King's Crusher," but was created based on a preparatory draft of King's Crusher and other materials.

On the side of the smaller one is the mark of Granskasher and the logo of "Plasticact" x "NG Knight Ramune & 40".

In fact, the hobby manufacturer PLUM cooperated with us in making this plastic kit. The GlanSkasher kit utilizes the structure of PLUM's original plastic kit series "PLAACT".

In addition, a CG illustration of a completed sample image of the GlanSkasher is included.

The absence of barcodes and other information makes for a cool, stylish, and relaxed package.

The number of runners is as shown. The runners and stickers in the lower right, slightly larger photo, are parts newly created for the "Glanzkasher".
The kit is constructed by attaching each piece of armor to a frame made of poly parts.
There are also runners from the Plastic Action Series called "Fang King" and "Arthur," but they are made using the molding colors specifically for the Glanzkasher.

The cover of the assembly instructions is also beautiful. It also includes color recipes to reproduce the paint job!

As for my impression of the assembly, I felt that the interlocking of the parts was surprisingly smooth.

Let's take a look at the assembled product!

Boom!

This is the New Generation Knight Grancher!

It took about 2 hours to complete.

The riveted parts of the head and body are completely new parts. You can see that the head is a King Skasher type.

The design of the newly sculpted right shoulder armor is also reminiscent of the King Crusher.

While the Kingsquasher had a slender sword protruding from its knees, the Gransquasher has a large sword mounted on its back. The rack of the large sword is also a newly sculpted part.

The large shield on the left shoulder is typical of the King's Skasher!

The color scheme is not too flashy, but still follows the King's Crusher style.

The stickers are used on the inside of the blue shoulder parts, the green forehead, the black side of the head, and the eyes.

In addition, the toes are new parts. The design is very similar to the toe of the King's Crusher.

The King Skasher has impressive profile lines. The Granskasher also has the same point.

Viewed from the side, the shield is so huge that it hides more than half of the body. The rivet at the top of the shield is a "Q". There are "Q" rivets on other parts of the body as well, so look for them.

The rack of the large sword is constructed with a frame extending from the back block. It is made up of multiple parts, so the rack can be moved according to the pose.

Q" rivets also on the waist armor.

Q" also on the arm armor.

Usually, joint holes on plastic acts are left as they are in most designs, but Glanzkasher provides numerous riveted parts to make the holes less noticeable.

Q" also in the center of the waist.

In "Ramune & 40," "Q" often appears as a keyword, such as "Q-pole meter," "Tama-Q," and "Q-pole deformation.

Let's take a look at the range of motion.

The head is ball-jointed via a polypropylene neck part, and while it cannot rotate 360°, it can be tilted back and forth, left and right, and to the side.

The base of the shoulder joint is a hybrid of ball joint and shaft connection. The shoulder armor parts are also movable to some extent. Lifting the arms horizontally is adequate.

Rotation of the shoulder joints allows the arms to be raised directly above the ground.

The roll axis of the second arm allows 360° rotation.

Elbows are double-jointed with poly parts. Deep bending.

Wrist connection is ball joint. The ball receiver is made of poly parts, so it can be smoothly interchanged with flat hands.

Shoulders are made of poly parts block and can swing forward with the whole frame.

Upper and lower body are ball joint connected. The front-back flexion is about this much.

It can also be tilted sideways. Of course, twists and turns are also possible.

Hip joints are poly parts. The side skirts can be lifted up, so the legs can be opened relatively wide.

As you can see, the front and back legs can be easily opened 180 degrees.

The knee joints are also double-jointed with polypropylene parts.

The ankles can slide forward and backward, rotate with ball joints, and swing left and right for basic movement. The toe part can be bounced upward.

The backpack stabilizer and the rack of the large sword are also movable.

Next, some posing.

The large sword can be reached while it is on the rack, allowing for a sword drawing pose.

Both the sword and shield are large, so just a little posing is enough to make this dynamic.

The movable toes can be used to express the ankles as he steps forward.

The back side of the shield is also fully molded. The stabilizers and waist armor can be raised to give the figure a more vigorous posture.

By using the joint holes on the underside of the waist, it can also be displayed on a commercially available display stand.

Take a big swing!

Granscacher swings his sword down with all his might.

She can also be posed in a meat-and-potatoes battle pose!

Granskascher kiiiiiick!

Even standing on one leg is nothing!

This huge shield protects him from any kind of attack!

The one-knee stand comes naturally!

The Granskasher is such a huge knight that the King's Crusher could fit right in. The image of the knight in the movie comes to mind when you see him in the aori.

By the way, this Granskasher. In the "Ramune & 40FX" movie, it was assembled like a plastic model and even has surplus parts (laugh). The actual kit also reflects this setting, or perhaps there are parts that are not used in the assembly of the Glanzkasher.

So, in this "Plus One Extra Step", I will use some of those surplus parts to make a knight that can transform into the "Samurai Lion Form", which does not exist in the settings.

The instruction manual does not include assembly diagrams for the following parts, so please refer to the photos if you want to reproduce them.

These are wrist parts. The parts used are "Kyo-Oh Runner" A, B, and E.

Assemble A1, A2, A11, B6, E4 x 3 as shown in the picture and replace with the back of hand parts.

Then the chest parts. Runners used are "Fang King Runner" D, F, G.

Assemble D6, D8, F3, F7, and G1 as shown in the image.

Lion head.

This is "Fang King Runner" B, H.

Assemble B2, B3, B4, B5, H2, H3 as shown in the image, and combine them with the lion head as shown earlier, and replace with chest armor.

For the tail parts, use "Fang King Runner" C, E and H.

Assemble C2, E1 x 4, E2 x 4, E5 x 2, and H6 as shown in the image.

The parts assembled up to this point are assembled into the Glance Crusher to complete the product!

We call it "Lion Crusher" (*Not an official setting!).

The lion head on its chest gives it an even more impressive appearance!

The "Kings Crusher Zero" (designed by Kyoryu Kuramochi) was unintentionally announced on the official "Ramune & 40 BD-BOX" Twitter page. The box art for the base kit, "Kyo-Oh", was also drawn by Mr. Kuramochi.

The lion's paws, which were retractable in the "King Crusher," are now claw parts on the backs of the hands.

The backpack is reconfigured into a connecting block for the tail. To follow up the movement of the rack of the big sword, we used additional "Gran Skasher Runner" A1, A2, etc. instead of "King of Fang" H5 parts.

The tail, which was retractable in "King's Crusher", is left out as a stabilizer part even in robot mode.

The arm claw can be used for fighting!

But the dynamic action with the large sword is still very cool!

The lion head on the chest emphasizes the wildness of the figure.

Now, let's transform it into SamLion FX (tentative)!

Hot blood! Chainj, Samuraion!"

Only the part from thigh to shin, rotate 180°. Stand on the toes.

Raise arms forward and deform claws.

Lift the head of the gruntskasher all the way back and deform it to hide the face with the lion head on the chest. Move the shield and the great sword so that they do not get in the way.

This completes the transformation to the SamLion FX (temporary) form!

It may be a bit aggressive, but you can also play with the extra parts like this.

The horns on the glanskashers look just like horns in the Samlion form.

Actually, without the gimmick that allows the toes to stand up, this transformation would have been difficult. It is good that it is movable!

The tail might be a little too long, so it could be adjusted by reducing the number of knots.

Furthermore, since this kit is based on the Plastic Act series, we tried this form as well.

Samlion is a lion with wings. So I brought wing parts from the "PLAACT Option Series Gull".

It will look good if I paint them together with the body of Granskasher.

The wings can be transformed into a shield and attached to the shoulder, just like the King Skasher. Instead, it is not possible to attach the large sword rack, so I changed the method to attach the "Fang King" H5 parts to the large sword and mount it on the back.

As one idea, how about this way of enjoyment?

Now, the only way to obtain this kit is to purchase the "Novel NG Knight Ramune & 40 FX Upper Volume Wakuwaku Set with Plastic Kit Glance Casher" which was available for reservation at "Animate" or "Amiami" and is now closed for reservation.

Instead, we are now accepting reservations for "Novel NG Knight Ramune & 40 FX Bottom Volume, Wakuwaku Set with Plastic Kit Outsideron"! (until December 23, 2021)

This novel book is a book version of a work written by Midori Juuniya, and the novel alone can still be enjoyed on the web. The book version also includes illustrations by Mariko Kawamoto.

In fact, each set includes not only the novel and plastic kit, but also a DVD containing the last episode of the TV version and all episodes of the OVAs "DX" and "EX" in the upper volume. The second volume includes the new PC game "Guardian Knight"!

We hope you can at least get the lower set!

In addition, a plastic kit "Outsideron" is also included! You can watch the assembly of the plastic kit "Outsideron" on the YouTube channel of "Root Design Inc. If you are interested, please take a look!

Plastic Model Driving School SP Room" Challenge Outsideron (Twitter account is #)

*The Outsideron in the image is a colored prototype. I would be happy to review the Outsideron in a later article~!

I never dreamed that the 30th anniversary of "Ramune & 40" would be the occasion for a new design, a new plastic kit, and a new game for "Knight.

In addition to the Granscacher and Outsideron, there are two other knight mecha in the "FX" series, and apparently they can also be reproduced using a combination of the Plasticact series. If I have a chance, I would like to learn the recipe for assembling them and make them.

We will see you again!
