TOMIKAWA MITSUYOSHI
A contemporary miniature painter who depicts everything from creation to the posthuman world as one.

Profile
Born in 1975. His works based on a meticulous style and philosophical themes are highly acclaimed both in Japan and abroad.
Influenced by the posthuman philosophy, Tomikawa's theme is to write down the history of mankind and the future of mankind as a "cosmic version of the world heritage" and to pass it on to other life forms and intelligent life forms even after mankind's demise. The countless sperm spread across the screen represent the "quantum" in quantum mechanics. By comparing the quantum, which is located between existence and non-existence and has affinity with the concept of "emptiness" in Eastern philosophy, to the sperm, which fluctuates countless times and is located between life and non-life, the artist has found common ground between the quantum and humankind, and also brings fineness and precision to the entire work.
