An anime adaptation of "MF Ghost," written by Shuichi Shigeno and serialized in Kodansha Young Magazine, has been announced, and a teaser visual and special PV have been released.

MF Ghost" is a manga work written by Shuichi Shigeno and serialized in Young Magazine (Kodansha) since 2017. The total number of copies sold has exceeded 3.2 million. The manga depicts car racing battles on real public roads in a near-future setting of "Initial D," which was also serialized in "Young Magazine" from 1995 to 2013 and depicted the "legend of the fastest car on public roads. The latest volume of the original comic, volume 13, is scheduled for release on Thursday, January 6, 2022.

Broadcast in 2023! Teaser Visual Revealed!

We are pleased to announce that "MF Ghost" will be adapted into a TV anime in 2023. To celebrate the anime adaptation, a teaser visual has been released. The visual depicts a scene in which the car "TOYOTA 86" driven by the main character "Kanata Rivington" is running at full speed and a race battle with rival cars "Alpine A110S" and "GT-R" is unfolding behind it. In the future of "Initial D," the automobile race "MFG" is held in an era when automated driving has become widespread, and a part of the public road exists as a legal race event site with a closed course. The visual also depicts a public road in the background.

A special PV has been released! Uses real engine and driving sounds!

Along with the teaser visual, a special PV was also released. In order to faithfully depict the "sound" that is one of the most important elements in the depiction of cars in the anime adaptation, the sound recording was done using real cars. Each car that appears in the special trailer reflects the sound of the real car. In addition to the engine sound of the "TOYOTA 86," the realistic driving sounds of the rival cars, such as the "Lamborghini URACAN" and "Ferrari 488 GTB," add to the power of the CG cars in the scene where they are competing against each other. In the future, the actual running sounds and sound effects will be used for the cars that appear in the anime as well. This is a must-see and must-hear for car fans as well as fans of the original work.
