Interview with Ayasa Ito, who plays Arisaki Ichigaya, in commemoration of the opening of the theater version of "BanG Dream!
The next generation girl band project "BanG Dream! (BanG Dream! Poppin'Dream)," a new theatrical film linking characters and live performances, is currently being screened from January 1, 2022.
This is a work that is connected to the third season of the TV series, and is a large scale work that can only be shown in a theater version, in which Poppin'Party, after successfully performing at the Budokan, starts to aim for overseas stages after a mysterious woman appears.
The film depicts Poppin'Party's pursuit of their never-ending music (Yume), and one of the members of Poppin'Party, Arisaki Ichigaya (Key), is played by Ayasa Ito.
The interview is published in advance of the January 8, 2022 issue of "Gekkan Bushiroad" (published by Bushiroad). Through the article, we hope you will get a sense of the film's appeal.
─ ─ When I heard that a movie version of "BanG Dream! was going to be produced?
Ito: It was a surprise announcement in a commercial after the last episode of the third season of the anime. It was like a surprise announcement, "It will be released in 2022! But at the time, it was in 2020 or something like that, so I was frankly thinking, "That's a long way off. I wondered if the story of GARUPA would have progressed in the meantime. Or, "I wonder what will happen to Poppa-chan 2 years from now? It was a world I couldn't even imagine. But above all, I was happy to be able to make a theater version, as it had been one of my dreams since I started working as POPIPA.
─ By the way, when did you start postrecording?
Ito: The postrecording started around this summer!
─ ─ It seems like you started working on it after the announcement.
Ito: That's right. It was like, "It's finally here! It was like, "It's finally here!
Episode of Roselia" will be released in 2020.
Ito: It was amazing how special the movie version was. I think the sound and atmosphere can only be felt in a movie theater, so I was really looking forward to seeing what the theater version of Poppipa would be like. During the period leading up to the release of the theater version, there were live performances, live broadcasts, and various other events, so I was gradually getting more and more excited.
─ ─ Do you have any behind-the-scenes stories about the postrecording of "Poppidori"?
Ito: I was dubbing with Riko Ohara, and Rokka Asahi, who plays Riko, told me how much she loved Poppa, which made me feel really good as we dubbed the scene (laughs). (Laughs) She told me that she loved me a lot, and that was fun.
Thank you very much. Now, please tell us about the highlights of the show.
Ito: I think it is hard to go abroad in this day and age, but I think it is very comforting to see Poppa-chan excited and having fun abroad, and the story is one that I can relive. It reminds me of the excitement of school trips and excursions when I was a student. It is full of my youth.
─ ─ Finally, do you have a message for our readers?
Ito: Thank you for your constant support. I have noticed that many years have passed since Poppipa started its activities, and finally a movie version has been released. Poppidori" is a very cheerful and fun story, but it is also a culmination of our activities, so when I saw the movie, I was a little moved. I am sure that there are scenes in the film that you can feel the same way. The movie version will be released at the beginning of the new year, so I hope we can get off to a good start and run through another year!
