Winter Anime "Heike Monogatari" Episode 1 Synopsis & Advance Cuts Revealed! Featuring Aoi Yuuki, Takahiro Sakurai, and more, airs Wednesday, January 12!

The TV anime "Tale of the Heike," which will begin airing on January 12 (Wed.), has released a synopsis and advance scene cuts from the first episode, "Heike wa arazaka wa hito ni arazuzu.

The story features the original character "Biwa" (CV: Yuuki Aoi) as the narrator, Biwa-houshi. The story centers on Biwa's interaction with the Heike family, including Shigemori (CV: Takahiro Sakurai), the eldest son of Taira no Kiyomori, and his sister Tokuko (CV: Saori Hayami), and depicts people who lived hard despite being at the mercy of the times.

Heike Monogatari", currently being pre-distributed on FOD, will start airing on Fuji TV's "+Ultra" and other channels from January 12 (Wed.), 2022. The synopsis of the first episode and advance scene cuts have been released.


Synopsis and scene cuts
Episode 1 "Heike wa aruka nani ha nazareru" (If you are not a Heike, you are not a person)
Kyoto in the late Heian period. The Heike clan is about to achieve prosperity in every aspect, including power, military might, and financial resources.
Shigemori's eldest son, Shigemori, feels threatened by his father, Taira no Kiyomori, who is growing more ambitious than even the emperor. One night, he meets Biwa, a young biwa player, in his residence, who predicts the downfall of the Heike clan.
Both Shigemori and Biwa have in common that they have "eyes" that can see the invisible.
