What is your favorite Dragon series? Popularity Poll Results! The popular character Majima and Kasuga are going head to head in a battle.

From December 20, 2021 to January 3, 2022, Akiba Research Institute held an official special poll, "What is your favorite "Yakuza" series? Popularity Poll" held from December 20, 2021 to January 3, 2022. Here are the results.

Here are the top-ranked entries in this year's "Yakuza" series popularity poll.

No. 1: "Yakuza0: The Place of Oath
No. 1: "Yakuza7: Where Light and Darkness Go
No. 3: "Yakuza
No. 4: "Yakuza Pole
No. 5: "Yakuza Pole 2
No. 6: "Yakuza Restoration!
No. 6: "Yakuza 3
No. 6: "Yakuza6: Poem of Life

In first place, "Yakuza0: The Place of Oath" released in 2015 and "Yakuza7: Where Light and Darkness Go", the latest title released in 2020, tied for first place.

Yakuza0: The Place I Swore" is a legend among fans, set in the bubble era when the popular character Goro Majima was a cabaret manager. Although Mashima now behaves in a tricky manner, this film depicts the battles and pure love he had when he was an upright and sensible man, and the scenario and dialogue delivery were excellent, which helped to make him an enduringly popular character.
Top-notch actors such as Riki Takeuchi also added color to the film's bubble era of lust.

Also ranked first was the latest work, "Yakuza 7: Whereabouts of Light and Darkness.

In this title, the main character is changed from Kazuma Kiryu to Ichiban Kasuga, and the battle system is changed from an action game to a "Dracula"-style RPG (the "Sword of the Brave" and other features are still there). However, Kasuga's passionate character, which was different from Kiryu's, and the exhilarating story in which he and his friends ran together quickly captivated fans of previous generations. The series was a huge success despite making drastic changes from the old series.

Yakuza" (No. 3) and its remake "Yakuza Kyoku" (No. 4) also boast strong popularity as the origin story of the main character, Kazuma Kiryu. Kiryu and Nishikiyama, who are best friends and both entered the world of the Gokudo, are at odds with each other, and the way they lose one important person after another reminds us of the heavy and harsh world of the Gokudo.
In addition to the scenarios from the previous version, the "Majima Everywhere" system, in which Majima is fighting everywhere, is also well-received as a fun feature.

Speaking of "Yakuza Kyoku 2" ("Yakuza 2"), which came in fifth place, one could not miss Ryuji Gouda, who at a young age made a name for himself as the "Ryu of Kansai" (the dragon of the Kansai region), and who goes head-to-head with Kiryu in a one-on-one battle. His dynamic personality and his seemingly violent but reasonable character have made players yearn for him, and many are still hoping that he will appear in a sequel.

The sixth-place and lower tie vote-getters each have a very different worldview and setting.

Yakuza Restoration! is a spin-off set in the final days of the Tokugawa shogunate, and its scenario and mini-games were highly rated. Yakuza3" is set in Okinawa, where the handsome and sharp-edged enemy Yoshitaka Mine is still very popular. Yakuza6: Poem of Life," set in Hiroshima featured Beat Takeshi and Tatsuya Fujiwara as key players in the final chapter of Kazuma Kiryu.

Thus, we looked back at the popularity of "Yakuza," and last October it was announced that a new studio structure would produce "Yakuza8 (tentative title)," in which Kasuga would be the main character. Why not play the past series once again before its release?
