Shinji Mizushima was born in Niigata Prefecture in 1939.
After making his debut in 1958 with a rental book manga, he published many full-fledged baseball manga starting with "Ace no joken" in 1969.
His representative works "Dokaben," "Poem of a Baseball Fanatic," and "Ikkyu-san" were made into animations and dramas.
