Orient", a manga serialized in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, is the latest work by Shinobu Otaka, whose works "Magi" and "Sumomo Momomo: The Strongest Yome on Earth" have also been made into anime. It has been 150 years since a "demon god" suddenly appeared in Sengoku-era Japan and seized control of the world, and only the "bushidan" (a group of samurai warriors) have stood against him. The boys, Musashi and Kojiro, pledge their dream of "forming the strongest warrior group" and take on the challenge of exterminating ogres.

Musashi and Kojiro are confronted by the Takeda clan. Musashi wants to make his first victory by defeating the demonic god "Togoku Tengu" before Takeda does. However, he was told by Takeda Naotora, the leader of the group, that "you cannot defeat him alone" and became irritated.
Meanwhile, Kojiro is deeply moved by the sight of the Takeda warriors fighting the demons. The scene was just like the picture scrolls his father, Jisai, had shown him when he was a child. My father's story was true. ......
