The report is in Japanese only.
A special talk event was held after the general preview screening. Director Kenji Kamiyama, Soma Saito (Suzushiro Asano), M.A.O. (Nazuna Hashimoto), Kazuyuki Okitsu (Seri Agawa), atsuko and KATSU from angela, and Kanoerana (Kanoerana) were among the splendid cast and artists who took the stage.
After all the speakers finished their greetings, the talk corner began immediately. First, Director Kamiyama, who created the world of the film as the original writer and director, was asked about his thoughts behind "Eternal 831." He said, "I wanted to try to capture Japan after the Corona disaster through animation.
He said, "I wanted to include the current situation in Japan, which we will probably experience only once in our lives, in the work.
Saito, who voiced the main character Suzushirou Asano, was asked what he focused on in his performance. I don't want to exaggerate too much, but I want to put in how Suzushiro feels from a flat perspective. Saito also spoke of his attitude toward the characters as a voice actor.
When it was pointed out that Saito-san is actually a big fan of Kamiyama's works, he said that he could not really express such feelings on the set. He even said, "I'm a fan!" in a loud voice directly to Director Kamiyama. In response, Director Kamiyama thanked the audience and said, "I choose the cast because I believe that there must be something in this person that matches the character, so it was an honor to work with him.
The next question was to M.A.O., who played the role of Nazuna Hashimoto. When asked what was the key to playing Nazuna, she answered, "During the first recording, I did not know how much pathos I should include in my performance, but the director gave me the direction to be close to Suzushirou, which made it very clear. I was not sure if I could include the pathetic feeling, but I was directed by the director to lean toward Suzushirou.
Next, Mr. Okitsu, who plays Seri Agawa, spoke about his character Agawa, who is hard to describe in one word, saying that "he is a criminal, but that is not the only thing you can say about him" and "I think he is a man who is thinking about something he can do only because he has grown up. Mr. Okitsu also said that he smoked a cigarette, which he usually does not smoke, to play the role of Agawa, who smokes cigarettes in the film. He spoke of his extraordinary commitment to the role, saying, "In order to express a character living in this world naturally and without exaggeration, I thought I would try changing my physical situation.
The question now turned to the artists who composed the music for the film's theme song, "Hitohira no Mirai," which was written by atsuko of angela, who was asked about the feelings behind the song, "Hitohira no Mirai. He mentioned that his own situation when he came to Tokyo overlapped with the theme song, and said, "I aimed to make it a song that makes you want to look forward. I tried to make it a song that makes you want to look forward. I think it is a song that pushes you back softly like the wind, rather than loudly and with a bang.
The audience laughed when KATSU of angela revealed, "The director's order was for the tempo of the song not to be too fast, not too slow, not too bright, and not too dark (laughs). However, he said that he realized that such a song would certainly fit the theme of the film, and commented, "Since the theme of the film is time, I tried to find a way to make eternity not eternal, and to create a song that would change the seasons. He added, "I did my best, because I am a fan of the director! Following Mr. Saito's lead, the audience was treated to another passionate message for Director Kamiyama.
Next, Ms. Kanoerana, who wrote the opening theme song "Kingyobachi," was asked about her passion for the song. I put the anger and pain he feels in the story into the song, and it turned out to be a rock song. He said. He also revealed the origin of the title of the song, "Kingyobachi," saying, "When I thought about it, the transparent wall I felt in the world looked like a goldfish bowl.
At this point, in reference to one of the themes of the film, "problems that are imposed on the characters and society but have not yet been tackled," the question was posed to all the speakers, "Things that you feel you have to do but have not yet been able to tackle.
Director Kamiyama answered, "The script and storyboard for the next film. I was so happy to finish this film and meet everyone that I skipped it..." He revealed a somewhat realistic part of his work. M.A.O. said, "I still have a lot of games I want to play...," and Mr. Saito said, "I'm going to get my wisdom teeth removed. I'm going to have my wisdom teeth removed. I have three more teeth to be removed, but I'm too scared to pull them out, so I advise everyone to do it as soon as possible..." There was also a scene in which Saito advised the visitors, "I have three more wisdom teeth to be removed, but I'm too scared to do it.
atsuko talked realistically about how she had to make appointments for medical checkups for the four people in her office before the end of the fiscal year, and katu continued, "I'm not good at gastroscopy. ......" Not only that, she said, "I've never been able to perform live before, so I want to do it in this era. I've never been able to perform live before, so I want to perform live because the music was born in this era. He then boasted, "That's the best thing I've ever said! The audience laughed as Kanoerana raised the bar with KATSU, "You say nice things! KATSU raised the bar and laughed, "I haven't had a gas stove installed in about three years....
After that, angela and Kanoerana performed live. First, they started with the opening theme "Kingyobachi" by Kanoerana, who was performing for the first time. Ms. Kanoerana said that it was her first time to greet the audience on stage like this, "I was encouraged by the two members of angela to do my best! But when the live part started, her eyes changed completely. Once the live performance began, however, her eyes changed completely.
With the voltage raised by Ms. Kanoerana still high, the two members of angela took the stage. While preparing their guitars, the two talked and then naturally transitioned to the live part, showing the style of veterans. They performed the theme song "Hitohira no Mirai" with overwhelming singing ability and performance, which was met with very hearty applause from the audience instead of cheers from the audience.
When the live performance ended, everyone took the stage again for the final remarks. Director Kamiyama said, "The cast and artists have created a film that captures a part of Japan today that I wanted to capture. I would like to know how everyone felt when they saw the finished film. I hope you will watch the broadcast." He thanked the audience and viewers and closed the preliminary screening.
The special talk event will be archived on the official WOWOW YouTube channel. The theme song "Hitohira no Mirai" by angela will be released digitally on January 21 (Fri), and the opening theme song "Kingyobachi" by Kanoerana will be released digitally on January 26 (Wed). Please check it out.
