So, "Weekend Plastic Model Making by Voice Actor Taiyuki! Weekend Plastic Model! Let's start the 44th issue!

Episode 44 Tekkaman Blade

The TV anime "Space Knight Tekkaman Blade" begins with the impressive opening theme "REASON" with powerful vocals by Yumiko Kosaka. The story is also quite heavy and hard, and probably left a strong impression on many people.
Plastic kits were released at the time the anime aired, and there have been some finished three-dimensional products for high age groups in the past, but now the long-awaited and completely new plastic kit has arrived! When the kit was first announced, the Tekkaman Blade was the talk of the town among fans due to its sharply sculpted shape, and now Wave is releasing a plastic kit of the Tekkaman Blade.

Please take a look at the largest size and the exquisite arrangement of the Tekkaman Blade as a three-dimensional object!

First of all, the package. Tekkaman Blade floating in space. The light in his eyes may be an expression of his fighting spirit, or it may be sadness. ......

You will be surprised at the size of the box when you find it on the sales floor.

There are not that many runners, but each one is large, so it is quite a big box. The color recipe is included in the assembly manual, but the color coding is mostly reproduced by dividing the parts.

Here is the unassembled kit. It took me less than 4 hours to complete the kit. The height at the time of completion is approximately 21 cm. Only nippers and a design knife were used. Of course, it is not painted.

And this is how the coloring is reproduced!

In addition, the sharp style that gives the image of the play and the massive modeling coexist. It is a wonderful .......

Clear parts are also perfectly used.

The kit does not have any internal frames (and mechanical internal frames are not possible in the setting), and the impression is that the kit will be assembled as it goes.
We recommend that you do not force the parts that you feel are hard to assemble, but rather, blend the parts as you assemble them. Please be careful with the clear parts in particular, as they are not elastic.

Close-up of the upper body.

The kit has been rearranged to fit the size of the kit, while keeping the image of the setting drawing. The arrangement is quite bold, but the balance is excellent and does not deviate from the image of the work.

The yellow parts such as the forehead and shoulders are also color-coded by dividing the parts. When assembling the shoulders, be careful not to misplace the part numbers.

The special move "vortecka" will be discussed later.

Around the abdomen.
The black parts form organic lines reminiscent of human muscles. The ribs also have white armored parts that look like "abdomen! The white armored parts are also placed on the ribs.

Beautiful legs. (I dare to use the word "beautiful").

Beautifully toned legs. I think it is because of the non-frame structure that the slimness was able to be expressed.

The ankles are so sharp and beautiful that you would think there should be stylish high-heeled shoes like this.

The back armor reminds us that the person inside must have muscular back muscles. The thrusters are also biological rather than mechanical. It looks like a mecha, but it is not a mecha. This is the charm of Tekkaman Blade.

The underside of the shoulder armor is also color-coded by dividing the parts.

Can you see the sharpness of the arm armor?

The waist is also tight. I would like to learn from this.

The lines for dividing the parts are detailed and are located on the ridge line, so they are not so noticeable.

The back of the knee armor is also tightly closed. No corners are cut just because the parts are not visible from the surface. High aspirations!

Look at the beautiful lines from the knees and shins to the toes.

Next, let's take a look at the movable parts.

The neck has a double ball-joint connection.

As you can see, it moves freely, allowing for a variety of poses.

The shoulders are connected to the body by a shaft connection and can be rotated.

They can also be raised horizontally by nearly 90 degrees.

A movable part for swinging the shoulders forward is built into the body side.

Roll rotation is possible at the upper part of the second arm.

The elbows are double-jointed and can bend as much as the human body, though not 180°.

The wrists are movable with two ball joint connections. Nice idea to increase movable parts by utilizing the design.

The waist can be tilted to the side by the movable axis and ......

Twisting is also possible.

It can also tilt forward and backward slightly.

The legs can also be opened.

The front and rear legs can be opened more than 180 degrees!

The black parts of the thighs and the white armored parts can rotate and roll at the joints.

The knees are double-jointed and can be bent deeply.

The ankles are also firmly movable, although they are connected to the shaft. It contributes greatly to the posing.

Now, let's take a look at the other movable parts. Let's take a look at the shoulder "vortecka" deployment gimmick.

First, open the white parts behind the shoulder armor.

The block on the top of the shoulder is opened backward to complete the vortecka firing state.

Clear parts are used for the movable parts, and it is the most important gimmick for the Tekkaman blade, so be gentle and let it deploy.

Let's try some poses that make the most of the movable parts.

First, a fighting pose on the ground.

Standing on his shoulders and knees is also very cool. ......

The ankles are too small to allow the figure to stand on its own while high kicking, but you can use a stand as shown here! The legs are long, so it looks really cool!

A shield is also included. It can be attached to either the forearms or the waist using the connecting parts.

The arm armor can be replaced with the shield connecting armor to attach the shield.

Triangular parts on the waist can be mounted by replacing them with parts for shield connection.

A flat hand is also included with the left hand.

Left hand is replaced with a flat hand, and also equipped with a Tech Lancer.

Tech Lancer can also be reproduced in a split state.

The split Tech Lancer can be held in opposite hands by replacing the handles on the left and right sides, allowing you to recreate the pose just before combining them into a twin lancer state.

The Tekkaman Blade stands beautifully even when fully equipped.

The "pinch object" type stand can be used to recreate space combat. The action in space was so cool in the movie! As expected of a "Knight of the Universe"!

The Tekkaman Blade charges forward with its shield in front of it.

The Radam beast's eye view just before being thrusted by the Tech Lancer!

Now that the photo shooting has become fun, let's add an "extra touch" here.

The " washing", " weathering ", and " smearing" operations that we often do in this series are done using the items you see and Kimwipes (or tissues). We use different colors for the weathering colors according to the kit, but this time we chose "Multi-Gray".

Apply the weathering color evenly all over with a brush, and when it dries to some extent, wipe it off with a KimWipe moistened with solvent. If you think you have wiped off too much, just reapply the weathering color again!

Basically, there is little damage to the parts, so I do not worry about "parts cracking," but do so at your own risk!

I think the overall color has become one tone more subdued, and the weathering color that has been incorporated into the details has become like a shadow, making it a little more austere.

As the name "knight" suggests, it is possible to create a luxurious atmosphere by using beautiful pearl paint, etc. Or, as in this case, you may choose to stain the figure in this way, which is reminiscent of the fierce battle in the movie and the damage done to D-Boy's (the main character who transforms into Tekkaman Blade) body.

How would you finish it?

The intricate details of the waist and legs have also been clarified a bit.

If you want to create an image of the Tekkaman Blade before it can be blasted (Editor's note: At the end of the story, the Tekkaman Blade is powered up to become the "Blaster Tekkaman Blade" by blasterizing), you may want to make it even dirtier.

Also, the same posing would look different from the unassembled version.

The thrusters on the yellow diamond-shaped part of the back will also look used by "staining" it. Since there are many white parts on the back, the weathering color will clearly show the details.

This time, the weathering color was applied directly to the plastic surface, but it will look different if you apply it after spraying with a "matte" spray.

Doesn't it look somewhat different from the bare surface of the unassembled model? It is a small step, but the effect is great, so please give it a try.

D-Boy stands firm in the midst of fierce battles.

Or is he talking something to Tekkaman Evil?

So, Mr. WAVE! We are waiting for the release of Tekkaman Evil! I am sure many of you are reading this very article right now, wishing to put the two of them together!

The same shoulder-knee stand, but after staining it, it looks as if it is kneeling due to damage or fatigue.

This display is inspired by the feeling of floating in space.

The blade is willing to take enemy fire as it plunges forward!

From its acceleration, it thrusts the Tech Lancer at the enemy!

Vorteckeroo!"

The wounded special move burns!

This is a reproduction of the arm assembly due to the left flat hand and the right wrist well hidden by the shield.

And here is a fully painted figure. At first glance, it looked almost the same as the unassembled version (smiles). That's how high the basic potential of this kit is.

What do you think?

I am sure that you are also starting to want to pose the figure with your own hands! However, since it is a "plastic kit," please be careful not to damage it by overdoing it when you move it. The trick is to hold it close to where you want to move it and move it slowly.

In "Space Knight Tekkaman Blade," there are many other Tekkaman besides the Blade, and since a sequel "Part II" was produced as an OVA, there are many Tekkaman in that series as well. We are looking forward to seeing how far you will go with the series at ......, and we will keep an eye out for future kit developments.

Pegas? It would be a heck of a size to fit these blades! I'd like to have one, though! (*Editor's note: D-Bowie will be able to transform into a blade by being stored in a support mecha called Pegas from the middle of the story.)

See you again in the next article.

Oh, and before I say goodbye, let me just shout this.

"Tech Setter!
