WOWOW original anime "The King of Fire Hunting" by Junji Nishimura and Mamoru Oshii will be broadcast!

The full-length fantasy novel "The Fire-Hunting King" by Rieko Hyuga will be broadcast as a WOWOW original anime. It will be directed by Junji Nishimura and composed and written by Mamoru Oshii.

The Fire-Hunting King" is a full-length fantasy novel by Rieko Hinata, known for "Amefuru Honya" and other works. With the theme of "fire," the story depicts children living in a world after the final war of mankind, and how they face many difficulties while trying their best to survive.


The story is a fantasy full of originality, and many readers have been moved by its deep themes.

Directed by Junji Nishimura of "SAMURAI DEEPER KYO" and "Today's Ma-O! and "Ghost in the Shell" and "The Sky Crawlers" director Mamoru Oshii is in charge of the composition and script. Fire in this world is harvested by hunting fire demons, black beasts that live in the forest. Recently, there has been a rumor whispered among fire hunters who hunt fire demons. The fire hunter who hunts the artificial star that wanders in the void, the millennial comet "Shaking Fire," will be called the king of fire hunters.
The protagonists of the story are Touko, a girl who grew up in a village, and Koushi, a former student in the capital. The encounter between these two people, who should never have met, changes the fate of the world.

Directed and directed his first film "Professional Golfer Monkey" in 1980. Directed "Urusei Yatsura 2 Beautiful Dreamer" directed by Mamoru Oshii.
