The film, which is currently in production, will be shown nationwide on June 3, 2022 (Friday)!

New comments from Toru Furuya, who plays the main character Amuro Rey, and Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, the director of the film, have been released, as well as character set-ups of the White Base members and illustrations newly drawn by Atsushi Tamura, the chief animation director and character designer.

Comment from Toru Furuya as Amuro Ray
I never thought that the island of Cruz Doan would become a movie.
It is a great honor for a voice actor to be able to play the role of the 15-year-old Amuro fighting in the Gundam again in the movie version after 43 years have passed.
During the post recording, I spent a lot of time at home carefully rehearsing.
When I finished watching the footage of the last scene, I unexpectedly burst into tears.
The realistic behavior of the mobile suits and the characters with rich expressions are truly fascinating, as only Director Yasuhiko could have created.

Yoshikazu Yasuhiko / Director's Comment
Mobile Suit Gundam" is a story of nameless "little people" who help each other to fight against a huge enemy and live through a cruel fate. There was once an episode in the TV series that best illustrated this tone. However, for various reasons, that story was left out of the overall flow of the series and has been removed. Now, the staff who love the original spirit of Gundam shed light on it and retell the story. Please watch. The Island of Cruz Doan.
