A reproduction of the board game "Gungi" from "HUNTER x HUNTER" is now available for purchase! Reservations are open today!

Universal Music G.K. has announced that it will release "Gungi," a fictional board game that appears in "HUNTER x HUNTER" in September 2022, and began accepting reservations for it today, February 14, 2022 (Monday). The price is 4,840 yen (including tax) for the "HUNTER x HUNTER GUNGI" and 48,400 yen (including tax) for the "HUNTER x HUNTER GUNGI High-End Edition.

HUNTER x HUNTER" has been serialized by Yoshihiro Togashi in "Weekly Shonen Jump" magazine since 1998. The main character, Gon, goes on various adventures in order to catch up with his father, Jin. The unique characters and unpredictable story have been loved by many fans, young and old, male and female alike.

The "Gungi" that will be released this time is a board game originating from the Republic of East Gorteau that appears in "HUNTER x HUNTER," in which players aim to stuff the "Sui," a piece that is the king, like in chess and shogi. This product reproduces and commercializes the pieces, board, and rules of the "GUNGI" based on the depiction of the game in the work.

Both the standard and high-end versions of this product will be available for pre-order as a limited edition made-to-order product.
The standard version comes with "50 pieces," "Gungi board sheet," "2 piece placement sheets," and "Gungi manual. The high-end version comes with "50 pieces" and "Gungi Manual" in addition to the actual shogi board, "2 piece placements" and "2 piece compartments".

＜Rules
Based on the description of the game, a special team was formed for this project to create the game. In addition to the "Advanced" version, which fully recreates the strategic features that can only be experienced in "Gungi," such as the ability to stack up to three pieces and freedom of initial placement, there are also "Beginner," "Elementary," and "Intermediate" versions for each level, for a total of four types of rules. The "Beginner" version can be enjoyed by parents and children, while the "Advanced" version can be enjoyed by those who are confident in their game skills.
