Mari Okazaki and other female authors depict "Lupin the Third"! Valentine's Day project started!

In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the "Lupin the Third" anime adaptation, a Valentine's Day project started on February 14, with the announcement of a collaboration with nine female authors and a Twitter campaign.

Lupin the Third" has reached a major milestone: the 50th anniversary of its anime adaptation. In October 2021, the anniversary year of the series, "Lupin the Third Part 6," the latest in the TV anime series, began broadcasting. Following the first episode, which was aired under the theme of "mystery," the series entered a new chapter (the second episode) at the beginning of the year 2022. The story of the mystery is further unfolded with "Onna" as the keyword.

＜WOMEN PLAY with LUPIN the 3rd
As a project to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the anime adaptation, and because the theme of the second season is "women," a dream collaboration was realized with female creators active in various fields! The theme was "women", and the second season's theme was "women", so a dream collaboration was realized with female creators active in various fields!

In this project, we placed importance on ideas from female creators. The female creators were asked to draw their own unique ideas for the characters, with the condition that "any appearance not in the original Lupin III style would be welcome. Enjoy the new charms of Lupin III, Daimon Daisuke, Ishikawa Gomon, and Fujiko Mine that you have never encountered before.

The artists' names are listed in alphabetical order and titles are omitted.

◆Mari Okazaki / Manga Artist, Illustrator
Debuted at Shueisha in 1994.
Her works have been dramatized and made into movies, including "Supplement" and "Are you going to stay single forever? and many others have been made into dramas and movies.
Recent works include "A-Un" (Shogakukan), "There's a song I want you to hear" (original story/blazing shell), and "Kashimashimeshi" (Shodensha). He has translated many works overseas.

◆Io Sakisaka / Manga Artist
Sakisaka made her debut in Shueisha's "Bessatsu Margaret" in 1999.
Her "Strobe Edge" (serialized from 2007 to 2010) attracted much attention, and "Ao Haride" (serialized from 2011 to 2014) became a big hit, selling more than 10 million copies in total. Aoharide" (serialized from 2003 to 2007) won the 63rd Shogakukan Manga Award in the girls' category. It was also made into a live-action and anime film, making a strong impression.
Currently, her latest work, "Sakura, Saku," is serialized in "Bessatsu Margaret. is currently being serialized in "Bessatsu Margaret.

I drew Lupin for the first time since I was in elementary school!
And I drew it while pulling out my Lupin CDs and listening to them! It was fun.

◆Yamamori Mika / Manga Artist
In 2005, "Magic from Your Kuchibiru" won second place in the 2nd All Margaret Newcomer Manga Grand Prix, and was published in "The Margaret", marking her debut as a manga artist.
His best-known work is "Hirunaka no Ryusei," which was made into a live-action movie starring Meiku Nagano in 2017. In the "This Manga is Awesome! 2022" Onna Edition, "Uruwashi no Yo no Tsuki" currently serialized in "Dessert" (Kodansha) was ranked No. 4.

◆Mayu Murata / Manga Artist
In 2005, she won the semi-Ribbon Award at the Ribbon Manga School in "Ribbon" (Shueisha). Her award-winning work "Kimi no Hitomi ni" was serialized in "Ribon Original" (Shueisha), and she debuted as a manga artist.
Her representative work is "Honey Lemon Soda" serialized in "Ribon" (Shueisha), which won first place in the "Readers' Choice Ranking of Favorite Shoujo Manga & Manga They Want to See Made into a Live-action Movie" in the teen magazine "Seventeen" (Shueisha) in 2020, and was made into a live-action movie in 2021.

I tried to draw this work on the theme of if Fujiko-chan became a high school girl.
I have never drawn someone with this style before, so I was very excited.
I am honored to have been allowed to draw it. It was a lot of fun!

◆Tomoe Itagaki / Manga Artist
Itagaki made his debut as a manga artist in 2016 when his short serial "BEAST COMPLEX" was published in "Weekly Shonen Champion" (Akita Shoten).
His representative work is "BEASTERS", which won numerous awards including the second place in the Otoko section of "This Manga is Amazing! 2018" (Takarajima-sha) in 2017, the New Face Award in the Manga section of the 21st Japan Media Arts Festival in 2018, the 11th Manga Grand Prize, the 22nd Tezuka Osamu Cultural Award Shinsei Prize, the 42nd Kodansha Manga Award for Boys, etc. He is currently a member of the weekly Shonen Champion magazine.
Currently, "SANDA" is serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion.

What color is Lupin's shirt? I looked it up and found that it was not so fixed and it was a variety of colors.
I drew him as he is, a fashionable man who can wear any color.

◆Ayako Ishiguro / painter, picture book artist
She likes to draw monsters, creatures of creation and animals.
Her books include "Bake-Neko Zororozoro", "Imouto Kaigi", "Eto Eto Gakusen", "Dotsei! Neko Matadasumo, Tsuchinko Tsuchan, Oororon Ooron, Nine Stars, and others. Ayako Ishiguro's Works" is a collection of her works. She is also known for her book illustrations for novelist Kyogoku Natsuhiko's "Gendai-ban ehon otogi-zoshi: Appendage of Mourning," written by Machida Yasushi, and her solo exhibitions in Japan and abroad.
His new picture book "Neko Matagoyomi" is now on sale from Poplar Publishing Co.

Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, Department of Design.
She is active in many fields, including the creation of illustrations for books, magazines, and advertisements, as well as the creation of image visuals for animation.
Her representative works include "My Ex's Last Will and Testament," "Kuroko no Yuubou or Aesthetic Lecture," "Alice Kills," "Left Hand of Darkness," book covers and illustrations, and many others. Yoko Tanji's Works" is now on sale.

Started activities in 2016. She specializes mainly in romance-themed works.
She is also active as a manga artist, publishing two books from KADOKAWA, collaborating with apparel brands such as CONVERSE TOKYO and New Balance, and working in a wide range of media including music videos for Saucy Dog and Omoinotake.
