Steampunk action drama "Steamboy," directed by Katsuhiro Otomo, will air on BS12, a free-to-air channel, on Sunday, February 20, at 7 p.m!

BS12 Twelvi, a nationwide free-to-air broadcasting station, will broadcast "Steamboy" on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at 7:00 p.m.

Steamboy" is the second feature film directed by Katsuhiro Otomo of "AKIRA" fame, which took 9 years to make and cost 2.4 billion yen to produce. Set in 19th century England, a time of prosperity with the advent of the steam engine, the film depicts on a grand scale the great adventure of a boy who is entrusted by his grandfather, the inventor, to stop the misuse of the invention of the century, "Steamball," as a weapon.

<Story
It is the mid-19th century in England, just before the world's first World's Fair. Ray, a 13-year-old boy born into the Stimm family of inventors, is anxiously awaiting the return of his father Eddie and grandfather Lloyd, who have been invited to the United States by the O'Hara Foundation for research, while he himself works hard at his favorite inventions. One day, Ray receives a mysterious metal ball from Lloyd. Soon after, people claiming to be emissaries of the OHARA Foundation come to take the ball away. Rey quickly escapes with the ball. However, he is caught in the end. At that moment, Ray meets his father, who is supposed to be in America, and the secret of the ball is revealed to him...
