I recently did a feature section on capsule toys for "Josei Jishin" (women's magazine). I hope some of you checked it out.

I am currently living in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, where original gachas also exist.

This time, I would like to start with a review of such local gacha!

Sendai Citizen Limited Can Badge" TOSHIN 200 yen, 11 kinds in total

TOSHIN, which operates the capsule toy specialty store "#C-PLa" nationwide, has planned a regional limited edition gacha. Using Twitter, the company is calling for ideas from all over the country to be made into badges. We are developing these great ideas into badges.

It's a city of a million, with a concentrated transportation network. What about this? The fact that there are some "what about this?" items in the lineup may be a deliberate strategy.

Sasa-kamaboko is a specialty of Sendai. However, Sendai people don't eat so much of it. This is a matter that needs to be investigated!

That's right. In Sendai, July 7 is just a casual day, and the three days of August 7, 8, and 9, the season of the three major festivals in Tohoku, are the Tanabata festivals! I hope we can hold it in a big way this year!

Yandakunaru Badge

The biggest class of "I don't want to do it" is "yandakunaru. It is also called "yandakunakko. But Sendai people do it after all. Perhaps it is the indomitable spirit of "Tohoku Spirit" that makes them do it even though they say so.

The "uniquely funny" badge

Quite a big laugh! That is the best word of praise. Many people use it even if it is not that funny. If you wear this badge while drinking, you'll have a great time!

Date badge

The word "Date-sha" refers to the gorgeous, luxurious, and elegant appearance loved by Lord Date Masamune, the founder of the Sendai clan. I don't feel bad about it.

This expression is the highest level of affirmative agreement. If you say "n" more strongly, it conveys even more feeling. This is an important dialect for strengthening the sense of camaraderie.

N-datcha~ badge

The secret is this! This is a Sendai dialect that became nationally known as Ram-chan's language in "Urusei Yatsura. It is especially attractive when said by a girl. To make a strong affirmation, add "Dare~" at the end of the word.

The prefectural batch is now being developed all over the country. In Tokyo, where many local people gather, it is sure to become a must-have item. The response has been so positive that a second version is already being planned.
