Etsushi Toyokawa will play the role of Duke Biao, the most powerful man in Qin Dynasty in "Kingdom 2: To the Faraway Land! The cast of other generals will also be announced.
A new cast has been announced for "Kingdom 2: To the Faraway Land," which will be released in the summer of 2022.
Set in the Spring and Autumn Warring States Period of China, "Kingdom" (authored by Yasuhisa Hara) depicts on a grand scale a young boy, Nobu, a war orphan with dreams of becoming a great general, and a young king, Isei (later Qin Shi Huangdi), who aims to unify China. The movie "Kingdom," released in 2019, was the No. 1 live-action Japanese film of the year and was selected for numerous film awards.
In the summer of 2022, "Kingdom 2: To the Faraway Land," a film depicting the battle of the Snake Gan Plain, will be released. The key person of this film, Qiang Qiang, who has been attracting attention for a long time, is played by Ms. Seina Kiyoyana, and the members of "Go" who are destined together with Nobu and Qiang Qiang are played by Ms. Amane Okayama, Takahiro Miura, and Takayuki Hamatsu.
Newly announced cast of military commanders including Etsushi Toyokawa!
It has been announced that Etsushi Toyokawa, one of Japan's leading actors, will be playing the role of "Duke Hyoko," the general of Nobu's first battle, played by Kento Yamazaki.
Although he is said to be an eccentric who has remained at the forefront of the Qin Dynasty, he is a general whose power is second to none of the six generals. He is played by Etsushi Toyokawa, who has played important roles in numerous films and TV dramas and has captivated audiences with his unparalleled presence.
His sharp gaze is just like that of a general gazing out over the battlefield. He has a unique sensibility that enables him to detect even the slightest change in the battlefield and compares warfare to "flames," and he moves on instinct by sensing the scent of such flames.
Mr. Toyokawa said, "I have been immersed in the world of Kingdom under the direction of Director Sato. I am very grateful. I am very satisfied. 2, which surpasses the first more than you can imagine, will unfold before your eyes. Kingdom, be afraid!" He commented. Producer Shinzo Matsuhashi commented on the casting, "His eyes like wild beasts, his big physique to wear huge armor, and his presence and persuasive power as a great general. Considering these qualities, I could think of no other actor but Etsushi Toyokawa, and I asked him to appear in the film.
The role of Wu Kei, the general of the enemy Wei Kingdom and one of the "Seven Masters of the Wei Fire Dragon," the pride of the Wei Kingdom, is played by Yukiyoshi Ozawa, who is said to be a genius in warfare. The role of Miyamoto, the second-in-command of Wu Kei's army who also serves as his military strategist, will be played by Tsutomu Takahashi, and Kiyohiko Shibukawa will play Bakkokoshin, a thousand-man general in the Wei Dukong army who will be Nobu's superior officer in his first battle.
The great generals that Nobu encounters when he takes to the battlefield as a foot soldier. How will Nobu and his team interact with these generals who stand in the way of his first step on the road to becoming a great general?

■Etsushi Toyokawa
A rumor ran that Kingdom was casting a lot of strong actors. I was kind of nervous. Will they call on me or not? Even though I'm a strong actor, I'm kind of curious.
So I got this big role. I feel like I've passed the employment exam.
Some people might say, "It's not Toyoetsu! some may say, but I have been immersed in the world of Kingdom under the direction of Sato.
I am very grateful. I am very satisfied.
The second, which surpasses the first more than you can imagine, will unfold before your eyes.
Kingdom, you should be afraid!
Producer Shinzo Matsuhashi
General Jugong is one of the strongest generals of the Qin Dynasty who has survived a hundred battles on the battlefield and is a very popular character in the original story. His beastly eyes, his large physique with huge armor, and his presence and persuasive power as a general. Considering all of this, I could think of no one else but Mr. Etsushi Toyokawa, and I asked him to play the role. I hope that the audience will be able to feel the courage and excitement of the supreme instinctive shogun, Shogun Yugong, played by Mr. Toyokawa, on the big screen in the theater, just as the hero, Nobu, feels it up close and personal.
Director Shinsuke Sato
When we asked Etsushi Toyokawa to play the role of Lord Nobu, a general who acts on instinct, we first worked together to create the visuals in great detail. Hair, beard, eyebrows, armor. Everything was done in great detail. Creating the visuals was the beginning of character creation. During the filming, a character who commanded the entire army on instinct but was also somewhat humorous came to life with every move he made.
(I was thrilled with the creation of these characters, who are the mainstay of the film.)
