Osomatsu-san: The Hippopotamus and the Shining Fruit" opens in theaters on July 8! Invited 50 people to AnimeJapan2022 stage!

In celebration of the 6th anniversary of "Osomatsu-san," a new anime "Osomatsu-san: Hippipo Tribe and the Shining Fruit" will be released in theaters nationwide on July 8, 2022 (Friday).

The first season aired from October 2015 to March 2016, and the second season from October 2017 to March 2018. The movie version "Eiga no Osomatsu-san" was released in March 2012, and the third TV anime season aired from October 2020 to March 2021.

As the first work commemorating the 6th anniversary of "Osomatsu-san," a new anime "Osomatsu-san: Hippipo Tribe and the Shining Fruit" will be released in theaters nationwide on July 8, 2022 (Fri.), with the second work scheduled for 2023, making it two consecutive years.

This completely new work is the first epic adventure in the history of "Osomatsu-san," in which the six children embark on a great adventure in search of a legendary fruit that will grant them any wish if they eat it.

The teaser visual, newly drawn by character designer Eiji Yasuhiko, depicts the six children in unusual adventurous outfits staring at something shining in a cave. In the teaser, we see the six children riding on a baby carriage amidst a giant dinosaur, and the silhouette of the "Hippipo Tribe," which is shrouded in mystery at this stage. Expectations are already high for the great adventure that will unfold on the mysterious island.

Directed by Yoshinori Odaka, who has directed such TV animation works as "Spilling Story Collection" and "Iyami wa Hitori Kaze no Naka (Iyami is Alone in the Wind)," and is a talented director who can also do gags and feature films. The script is written by Shu Matsubara, who has worked on the entire "Osomatsu-san" series.

Mr. Odaka, who makes his directorial debut with this film, says, "I laugh, I cry, and I'm being silly again. Will it change? Unchanged? I would be happy if you could see the new "Osomatsu-san". Mr. Matsubara, who writes the script, commented, "I hope many people will laugh a lot.

From March 11 (Fri.), Mubichike cards with special offers for "Osomatsu-san: Hippipo Tribe and Shining Fruits" (1,500 yen/tax included) will also go on sale at theaters nationwide. As the first of the special offers, you can get a "sparkling ticket holder" with designs of the six children in their adventurous costumes.

In addition, "Eiga no Osomatsu-san" will be screened again for one week only at seven theaters nationwide starting on March 11 (Fri.). At the screening theaters, special advance tickets "Commemorative 'Eiga no Osomatsu-san the Movie' Re-Showing: Glitter Big Paper Ticket" will be on sale for a limited time.
The special advance tickets will be on sale in limited quantities, and will feature the teaser visual illustration that was unveiled this time in a big size with a glittery finish, and will also serve as a postcard when detached from the ticket.

The "Glitter Big Paper Tickets" will also be on sale at the Avex Pictures booth at AnimeJapan 2022, which will be held at Tokyo Big Sight on March 26 (Sat.) and 27 (Sun.). Both quantities are limited, so don't miss out!

A special stage will be held at the Avex Pictures booth at AnimeJapan2022 on Saturday, March 26th to celebrate the 6th anniversary of "Osomatsu-san" and the release of the new anime "Osomatsu-san: Hippopotamus and the Shining Fruit". Takahiro Sakurai, who plays Osomatsu, Jun Fukuyama, who plays Kazomatsu, and Shu Matsubara, who wrote the script, will take the stage.

The stage will feature a talk that loosely looks back over the past six years and focuses on the contents of the new anime. A total of 50 people (20 fan club members and 30 general applicants) will be invited to the stage by lottery, and the event will also be broadcast live for free on the official "Osomatsu-san" YouTube channel.
