Animation "Sonny Boy" won the <Excellence Award> at the Japan Media Arts Festival! Youth Survival produced by MADHOUSE!

The original TV animation "Sonny Boy" broadcast in the summer of 2021 won the Excellence Award in the Animation Division of the 25th Japan Media Arts Festival.

The original TV animation "Sonny Boy" depicts the struggles of boys and girls left behind at school who suddenly start drifting off into another dimension one day during summer vacation. Written and directed by Shingo Natsume, director of "One Pan Man" and "Space☆Dandy" as well as the theatrical anime "Yondaihan Time Machine Blues" to be released this year, the film was produced by Madhouse, and Hisashi Eguchi was involved in the character design. In addition, Ginko BOYZ sings the anime theme song for the first time.

This work has recently received the [Excellence Award] in the Animation Division of the 25th Japan Media Arts Festival. The Japan Media Arts Festival is a comprehensive festival of media arts that honors outstanding works in the four categories of art, entertainment, animation, and manga, and provides opportunities to view award-winning works. The 25th edition of the festival received 3,537 entries from 95 countries and regions around the world.

<Story
August 16th, halfway through the long, long summer vacation. Nagara and his friends, who were in the third year of junior high school, were suddenly involved in an unexpected situation. Nagara herself, as well as 36 classmates, including Nozomi, Mizuho, and Asakaze, a mysterious transfer student, were adrift in another dimension.

They also acquired various "abilities" as they drifted away. Some are overjoyed by their abilities beyond human knowledge and run amok, others try to lead the other students as leaders, and still others desperately search for a way to return to their own world.

Some are spiraling distrust, uncontrollable jealousy, and conflicts stemming from a desire for control. In the face of one unexplainable situation after another, the boys and girls are suddenly thrown into a life of survival. Will Nagara and his friends be able to conquer this world and return safely to their original world? ......
