The TV anime "SPY x FAMILY," which will begin airing on April 9, 2022 (Sat.) at 23:00 on TV Tokyo and other stations, has released information on the artists of the opening theme song and ending theme song that will be in charge of the first cool season.

SPY×FAMILY" (written by Tatsuya Endo), serialized in "Shonen Jump +" from March 2019, is a popular manga that has won numerous awards, including first place in "This Manga is Amazing! The latest eight volumes (released on November 4, 2021) have sold a total of more than 12.5 million copies.
This work, which is supported by a wide age range of both men and women, will finally be adapted into a TV anime in 2022.

It will be co-produced by WIT STUDIO (representative works: "Shinkage no Kyojin Season 1-3") and CloverWorks (representative works: "Fate/Grand Order: Babylonian Front of the Absolute Monsters"). Directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi (representative work: "Mobile Suit Gundam UC"), character design by Kazuaki Shimada (representative work: "The Promised Neverland"), BGM in the play by (K)NoW_NAME (representative work: "Dorohedoro").

Information on the artists of the opening theme song and ending theme song of the TV anime "SPY x FAMILY" has been released.

The opening theme song will be "Mixed Nuts" by Official Bearded Man dism and the ending theme song will be "Kigeki" by Gen Hoshino. Both artists have commented on the songs they have written for this film. A trailer featuring the opening theme song "Mixed Nuts" and the ending theme song "Kigeki" has also been released. The trailer is filled with spy action and heartwarming elements of Lloyd and his friends.

Prior to the first broadcast on April 9 (Sat), the first and second episodes will be premiered on April 1 (Fri) at 19:00 in Tokyo, Osaka, Aichi, Okayama, Hokkaido, and Fukuoka. In addition, Takuya Eguchi, who plays Lloyd Forger, Atsumi Tanezaki, who plays Anya Forger, and Saori Hayami, who plays Yol Forger, will appear on stage to greet the audience at the TOHO CINEMAS Hibiya venue only.

In addition to information on the opening theme song, ending theme song, trailer, and advance screening, information on the distribution of the full-length film and the cover illustration of the official start guidebook to be released on April 4 (Mon.) will also be revealed. ──How did you feel when it was decided that you would be in charge of the opening theme song?
We have always been fans of the original work, so we never thought we would be in charge of the opening theme song, and we were very happy. At the same time, I remember that we were determined to write a good song no matter what.

─ What were your impressions after reading the original manga "SPY x FAMILY"?
I read the manga with an affinity for Lloyd, Anya, and Yol, who each have amazing abilities, but when they get into their daily lives, they stumble over many things in the process.
I think this is a work that we can relate to because the interactions as a family that appear unexpectedly in the story that unfolds in a grand worldview and the emotions that the characters have are linked to our own everyday lives.

─ What is the name of the song and your thoughts behind the music?
I once heard Anya say that she likes Peanuts, which I thought was nice and austere, even as a child. I suddenly thought of peanuts in the mixed nuts that I often eat and looked them up, and found that although they look similar, peanuts are classified as nuts that grow from trees and peanuts that grow under the ground, and that peanuts are really a different kind, even though they look similar.
I felt that this was the theme of this work, that there is something interesting about playing a fake family while hiding one's true identity and confronting something like a real family, and that the happiness and joy that comes to you is all that matters, rather than whether or not you are a real family member. I created the film with this in mind.

─ Do you have a message for those who are looking forward to the anime?
It is a truly wonderful work, and as a fan myself, I am very happy because I have been longing for an anime version of it. The drawings are wonderful, and I hope you will look forward to it.

──How did you feel when it was decided that you would be in charge of the ending theme song?
When I received the offer, I had just finished reading the original work, so it felt like fate. I enjoyed reading it very much, so I was very excited to be able to write the ending theme song for this work.

───What were your impressions after reading the original manga "SPY x FAMILY"?
I thought the "family structure" itself was a wonderful idea. The balance between Dusk and Yol, who have military power but know nothing about each other, and Anya, who does not have military power but has the power to advance the story and knows all their secrets, was great. It could have been a very serious story, but I loved the fact that it could be enjoyed as a "comedy" or "comedy.

───Can you tell us about the title of the song and your thoughts behind the music?
I was told by the producer that the theme of the song should be "family," so I wrote the song with the sense of family that the story has in mind and the image of family that I have in mind. I had previously written a song called "Family Song" on the same theme, but I think I was able to create something completely different with this "comedy" song.

─ ─ Do you have a message for those who are looking forward to the anime?
I am very happy to be able to color the animated world of "SPY x FAMILY. We worked very hard on it, so I hope you enjoy every bit of it, including the ending and the song "Kigeki".
