This is an album that will take us to an exciting place!

─ ─ The first album "Pop Step Jump! was released on March 18, 2020, so this is the first album in exactly two years. What has the past two years been like for Spira Spica?

Mikiba: I am basically a positive person, but I sometimes felt down at the beginning of the Corona Disaster because I could no longer see the people I used to see normally. But I think it was two years of desperately searching for what I could do in this situation. Since our debut, we have been supported by many people, but after the Corona Disaster, I became more aware of the importance of the people around us and the gratitude of those who lend their support.

Teranishi: I have more time to focus on the music itself, and I feel that my perspective on songwriting has changed. I am happy to say that I am now able to enjoy creating music more, or rather, I have more room in my mind to play around with it.

Masuda: I think that the two years that we have been able to live more have allowed us to feel the joy of being able to perform live, or rather, the weight and appreciation of each live performance.

─ ─ Your single releases have been going well, and since your first album, you have released four single CDs and one digital single.

Mikiba: I am glad that I have been able to sing the theme songs for various anime and have released singles. However, when I think about what I could have done without the Corona disaster and what stage I could have reached, I do have some regrets.

─ ─ So it was with mixed feelings that you began work on your second album, "Nagareboshi Train. What did you first consider in the production process?

Mikiba: First of all, we decided on the album title first. Each member brought in a title idea, and we wrote it down on the whiteboard in the meeting room and discussed it.

Masuda: We presented our own title ideas to each other, saying how we thought of them and how we came up with them.

Mikiba: The most important thing for us at Spira Spica is the clarity of the title. Tera-kun (Teranishi) came up with the title "Nagareboshi Train" and I thought it conveyed the image easily.

Teranishi Spica is the name of a star, so I wanted to make a title related to stars, and the word "Nagareboshi" came to me first. Then I came up with "train" from the idea of everyone getting on board with our music and running toward our dreams together, and when I put the two together, I thought, "Doesn't that sound good? I put the two together and thought, "Doesn't that sound good? I was quite confident when I announced it (laughs).

Mikiba: And the katakana characters are cute, too. I thought maybe someone had already used it, so I tried searching for it, but there were almost no hits.

Teranishi I am glad that it became our original.

Mikiba Once we decided on the title, it was easy to get an image of the new song for the album, and production went smoothly. I thought about what songs I could add to the singles that had already been chosen to be included on the album to make it more suitable for the album titled "Nagareboshi Train" and started writing.

──There are 6 new songs out of the total of 12, which is exactly half of the album.

Mikiba: I think this is an album where you can look back on our two years of history and enjoy the new songs as well, and reach an exciting place.
