Bokura no Yoake", a manga serialized in "Afternoon", will be adapted into an animated feature film, which will be released in early fall of 2022.

On March 18, 2022 (Friday), about half a century after the first successful spacewalk by humans on March 18, 1965, "Bokura no Yoake," a masterpiece SF juvenile manga serialized in "Afternoon" (published by Kodansha) and nominated for the Nebula Award, will be released as a theatrical anime in early fall of this year. It was announced that "Bokura no Yoake" will be released as an animated feature film in early fall this year.

The story takes place in the year 2049, 27 years after the present day. The main character, a boy who loves space and robots, is obsessed with a comet that will soon approach the earth. One day, he meets an "unknown being" from outer space.

The teaser visual depicts the Asagaya apartment complex, where the boy and his friends live, and the water tower that stands quietly in the background. A boy and a robot stand on the rooftop of the complex in the dawn light. What is the unprecedented top-secret mission that comes to them?

I've been waiting for you. The mysterious copy of the film, "I've been waiting for you," is also unintentionally exciting. The teaser visual depicts the rooftop of the apartment complex glowing beautifully as the morning sun gradually rises in the sky, giving the viewer a sense of the grandeur of space. The grandeur of the universe can be felt.

Bokura no Yoake" is a manga that was serialized in 2011. It is now 2022.
The story takes place a little further into the future than the present. There are flying robots and so on.
This work is now being made into an animated feature film. A lot of people have come up with great ideas, and we are in the process of creating the work. The future is amazing. I am very excited.
