Sunao Katabuchi, director of "In a Corner of the World," releases an introductory video and comments on his next film!

Contrail, Inc. has released the first video introducing director Sunao Katabuchi's next film.

Sunao Katabuchi is an animation film director born in Hirakata, Osaka in 1960. While a student at Nihon University College of Art's Department of Cinema, he participated in Hayao Miyazaki's "Detective Holmes" as a scriptwriter. In 2009, he delivered "Mai Mai Shinko to Sennen no Mahou" (My My Shinko and the Millennium Magic).

In " Mai Mai Shinko and the Magic of a Thousand Years," a mirror is used to show the world that has been built up over the years.

This introductory video was released to coincide with the recruitment of people with animation experience. It is a valuable video showing storyboards and scenes from the production site of the next work by Sunao Katabuchi, director of "Mai Mai Shinko and the Millennium Magic," "In a Corner of the World" and "In (Many More) Corner of the World.

It has been 5 years since we started preparations in 2017, and now we are finally going to start production of the full-length film. Before that, I made this introductory video as a way to greet you all. This is the subsequent path taken by the girl who appeared in "Mai Mai Shinko and the Thousand Year Magic" a thousand years ago. This video is the entrance to the story.
