A TV anime of the daily life comedy "Abaren-san hakarenai," which is currently being serialized on "JUMP+," a web manga site distributed by Shueisha, is currently being broadcasted.

The story is about a small, quiet high school girl, Ina Abaren, who cannot "measure" the distance between herself and others, and Raidou-kun, who sits next to her, and their comical and a little bit sweet high school life. The work depicts high school life.

This time, Akiba Research Institute interviewed M.A.O., who plays Mitsuki Oshiro, a nervous girl who is a childhood friend of Ms. Abatsure. We spoke with her about the "gap" that Mitsuki has.

--First of all, please tell us what you think of the film.

M.A.O.: When I read the original story, I felt very warm and fuzzy. In the anime, Mr. Abaren's feelings are so carefully depicted that you can tell by the movement of his hair, so I hope you will check it out!

--What do you think is the charm of this work?

M・A・O As the title says, the distance between the two is hard to gauge.　It's interesting to see how the two of them are so far away from each other, but before you know it, they are right in front of each other! It is interesting to see the development of ....... I also find it fascinating that all the characters are unique and kind.

--M.A.O.: How did you feel when you were chosen to play the role of Mitsuki Oshiro?

M・A・O Ms. Oshiro is a shy girl, but at the same time she is good at haircuts and does muscle training on a regular basis, so I was really looking forward to playing her.

--What was your impression of Ms. Oshiro?

M.A.O. (played by Inori Minase) She is always very protective of Ms. Abaren. I also felt her "girlish power" in the way she took care of Ms. Abatsure's skin by using milky lotion and body cream (laugh).

--(Laughs) - So, what is your image of Ms. Abalen?

M・A・O She is very innocent and I felt like I wanted to "protect her" just like Mr. Oshiro feels for her! I wanted to protect her just like Mr. Oshiro feels for her!

--What do you think about the relationship between Mr. Abaren and Raidou (played by Takuatsu Terashima)?

M・A・O I think it's great that Mr. Raidou is able to take Mr. Abatsure's actions into consideration, and Mr. Abatsure is able to honestly say, "I'm sorry I behaved that way at that time. I can see that they are able to maintain a proper "emotional distance" from each other.

--M.A.O.: How do you feel about the relationship between Mr. Abalen and Ms. Oshiro?

M・A・O It is interesting that, contrary to appearances, Ms. Abaren seems to be the older sister in spirit. I find this unevenness very attractive!

I found the voices of Mr. Abaren and Mr. Raidou very helpful!

--M.A.O.: Was there anything you paid attention to when you were playing Mr. Oshiro?

M・A・O In the scene where she jumps down from a high place, I tried to portray her as "a girl who can move in a cool way! I wanted to give the scene in which she jumps from a high place the image of "a girl who can move coolly! Also, Mr. Ooshiro thinks Raidou-kun is very scary at first, so I tried to express the nuance of "I want to do my best for Reina-chan, but I'm still scared ......"!

--What is the most impressive scene in the anime?

M・A・O The scene where I cut Raidou's hair. I felt as if the witch was saying, "Yihihihihihihi......! I really enjoyed playing the role.

--(Laughs) I really enjoyed playing the role.

M・A・O In these times, it was difficult to have a large group, but I had several opportunities to record with the two of you (Mizuse and Terashima). --M・A・O Mr. Oshiro has a complex about his height. Do you have a complex as well?

M ・ A・O I guess I still get nervous when I speak at events where many people come to watch. ......

--What are your ambitions for 2022?

M.A.O.: "Health first. The other day I did muscle training for the first time in a long time and was shocked to see how stiff my body had become. ...... I will aim to lead a healthy life in 2022!
