My Happy Marriage" is animated by Rena Ueda & Kaito Ishikawa! PV, staff and comments are announced!

It was announced that "My Happy Marriage," which won the "National Bookstore Owners' Choice Recommended Comic 2021" and other awards, will be adapted into an anime.

The popular Japanese love story "My Happy Marriage" (author: Akumi Jawki, illustrator: Tsukiho Tsukioka) is published by Fujimi L Bunko. In the summer of 2021, a reading of the story was performed by a cast of splendid voice actors.

On Tuesday, April 5, "My Happy Marriage" was presented live from "Mori Building Digital Art Museum: Epson TeamLab BORDERLESS," a cherry-blossom-colored lamp installation titled "Forest of Lamps - One Stroke, Cherry Blossom. An anime adaptation of the work was announced.

The animation is produced by Kinema Citrus, which has created masterpieces with beautiful visual expressions such as "Made in Abyss" and "The Rise of the Shield Brave", and the lead cast will be Rena Ueda as Miyo Saimori and Kaito Ishikawa as Kiyoka Kyudo. A teaser visual depicting Miyo and Kiyoka, a teaser PV showing anime footage for the first time, and comments from the original story, cast, and staff were also announced.

<Original Synopsis
Is this marriage an invitation to Hades or a miracle of luck?
Miyo was born into a prominent family, but her mother passed away early and she grew up being abused by her stepmother and stepsisters.
When she is ordered to marry, it is to a young soldier named Kiyoka, who is rumored to be ruthless and merciless.
He was a notorious man who had been the subject of numerous potential fiancées who had fled within three days of marrying him.
When Miyo knocked on the door of the Kudo family, prepared to be cut down, she was met by a handsome man with a light pigment complexion.
Miyo is harshly treated upon first meeting him, but she is unable to return to her parents' home, and as she cooks for him day after day, she gradually begins to feel a connection with Seika.
This is the story of a girl who is loved and becomes happy.

Kaito Ishikawa as Kiyoka Kyudo
My name is Kaito Ishikawa, and I will be playing the role of Kiyoka Hisado in the anime "My Happy Marriage" as well.
I am very happy because I did not expect to be involved in the animation after performing in the reading play.
I am looking forward to seeing how the delicate changes in the feelings and complicated relationships between Kiyoka and Miyo will be expressed in the anime.
I still remember how I couldn't stop reading the original story as their relationship was slowly but surely built up.
This work made me realize that people can change in this way through encounters with others.
I hope to read the original story again before recording the scene, and I hope I will be able to play out the subtle changes in their feelings.

I am very, very happy to be able to play the role of Miyo in the anime as well.
I've been asked to play the role of Miyo in the PV and the reading play, so I've known her for a long time.
As a fan, I can't wait to see how this story will be depicted in the anime.

In particular, I would like to carefully depict the main character, Miyo, as she goes from a place of being insecure and withdrawn at the Saimori household to changing little by little when she goes to the Kudo household.
I also realize the difficulty of wearing kimonos every day....

I never thought that a novel I wrote would be made into an anime, which I have always loved and longed for, so it is like a dream come true.
