Live-action film "Mimi wo Sumeba" will be released in October! The narration by Yoko Honna, the voice actress of the anime version, is also included!

A live-action film of "Mimi wo Sumeba" will be released on October 14, 2022 (Friday). The special report video, teaser visual, and cast have been announced.

In 1989, Aoi Hiiragi published the coming-of-age romance manga "Ears to the Sky" in the girl's comic magazine "Ribon". In 1995, Studio Ghibli made an animated film based on the popular manga, which became a huge hit. The film has been aired frequently on terrestrial television, and is etched in the hearts of many as a milestone in the history of coming-of-age movies.

In January 2020, it was announced that a new "Ears to the Future" live-action film based on the popular manga would be made, and it was a huge sensation, with several related words ranking in the SNS trends.

The live-action film will have a dual structure, including the story of the junior high school students as in the manga and anime films, as well as a completely original story that takes place 10 years after the events of "Ears to the Future. The adult Tsukishima Shizuku will be played by Seina Kiyonai, and Seiji Amazawa by Momori Matsuzaka, with hit maker Yuichiro Hirakawa taking the megaphone.

After those announcements, the Corona disaster occurred, and many people have been waiting for further information, but now, at long last, a special trailer and a teaser visual have been released.

In the special trailer, the "Earth Shop," "book cards," and "bicycles" familiar to fans, as well as the film's iconic character "Baron," make an appearance. The film depicts the promise they made to each other in junior high school and the way they continue to think about each other and pursue their dreams even though they are now grown up and separated from each other in Japan and Italy (overseas), in the first half of the film. At the end of the film, the sound of stringed instruments is played to heighten expectations for the film.

In the final narration (title), voice actress Yoko Honna, who voiced Shizuku Tsukishima in the anime film, expresses her feelings in a single word, full of emotion.

The teaser visual depicts the back view of "Baron" who continues to watch over them at "Chikyuya" as usual, and the 10 years of growth beyond his gaze. The visual has a nostalgic and emotional atmosphere.
