The original TV anime "Butch Gire! a key visual, the first PV, and eight main cast members including Hajime Sato and Junichi Toki have been announced.

The TV anime "Butch Gire! is Twin Engine's first original TV anime. It is the story of a group of criminals who are chosen as doubles for Shinsengumi leaders and struggle to protect the security of Kyoto.
Directed by Tetsuo Hirakawa, produced by Geno Studio, which also produced the TV anime "Golden Kamui," and with character designs by Hiroyuki Takei of "Shaman King" fame.

It was also announced that the anime will air from July 8, 2022 (Fri.) on Fridays from 10:30 p.m. on TOKYO MX and other stations.

I want to depict the Shinsengumi. A period drama that follows the flow of history is good, and a freely conceived biographical romance would also be interesting. I want to draw an orthodox chambara, but I also want to do action with high jumps and shiny swords, just like in animation. We wanted to make a comedy that would make people laugh and a human-interest story that would make them cry, and we even went all out and included yankee elements. The result is "Butch Gire!
