Shin Ultraman" movie trailer finally released! Design Works will be released!

The trailer for the movie "Shin Ultraman," which will be released in theaters on May 13, 2022 (Friday), has finally been released.

Since its first broadcast in 1966, "Ultraman" has been broadcast in more than 100 regions overseas, and remains one of Japan's most popular characters. The new Ultraman film "Shin Ultraman" is planned and written by Hideaki Anno, who himself professes to be a fan of the Ultraman series.

The film will be directed by Shinji Higuchi, who has worked with Anno on numerous masterpieces, including "Neon Genesis Evangelion. The powerful production team, which won seven major awards at the 40th Japan Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director for the blockbuster "Shin Godzilla" (2004), which shocked all of Japan, is now fully prepared to take on this new fantastical special effects film.
The powerful production team will be joined by a superb cast of actors.

It was recently announced that one of Japan's leading artists, Genji Yonezu, has written the theme song "M Hachijuunana" (M 877). A 30-second special newsreel video containing the theme song was also released and became a major topic of conversation.

Finally, a trailer was released today, April 18.
A giant unknown creature, the Kaiju, appears, and the Kaiju Special Forces are dispatched. As the danger from the Kaiju looms, a silver giant flies in from outside the atmosphere and suddenly appears...! This 82-second video is the longest video ever released, and is filled with a sense of urgency, including the moment when Ultraman first lands on Earth.

In addition, "Shin Ultraman Design Works," which contains valuable materials, will be released.
The book contains over 500 artworks, including design drawings, CG models, and 3D models for verification, of the main items appearing in "Shin Ultraman," and traces the evolutionary process from the idea to the final form. The book also includes a 12,000-word memoir by Hideaki Anno.

The Design Works will be on sale in advance at theaters screening the film from May 13 (Fri.), the same day as the film's opening. （The theater pamphlet will also be available at the screening theaters on the same day.
