Sixth graders Kosuke and Natsume are childhood friends who grew up in an apartment complex. One day during summer vacation, they are gathered with their classmates Yuzuru, Taishi, Reina, and Juri at the apartment complex, which is scheduled to be demolished, when they are caught up in a mysterious phenomenon. The next thing they know, they find themselves in the middle of a vast ocean...

In the special trailer ( # ) released this time, Kosuke, Natsume and the others are enjoying summery activities such as fishing and sparklers in the "drifting apartment complex" on the ocean. However, things go beyond just enjoying "one-night camping," as a mysterious boy named "Nopo" suddenly appears and it becomes clear that the complex is sinking...⁉

The fresh summer scene is colored by the anime's first tie-up song, "Much Better in the Middle of the Night," which was written especially for the film. The song "Natsukare" is a nostalgic and pleasant music piece written for this work by "Much more midnight would be nice. The nostalgic and comfortable music and the warm and nostalgic worldview of this work are also noteworthy.
