Photos! Takuya Fujima-designed characters are active with a maximum draw of 10 cards! Report on the Production Announcement Meeting of Broccoli's New Fast-moving Experience TCG "Vividz," Featuring Voice Actor Mio Hoshitani!

On Monday, April 25, 2022, Broccoli Co., Ltd. held a production announcement for a new trading card game, "Vividz," in Tokyo.

The new trading card game "ViVidz" is the company's first original and completely new TCG in about 10 years.

The teaser site released beforehand showed the concept text of the "fast-paced experience TCG" and silhouettes of what appeared to be beautiful girl characters, and at the initial announcement stage, it was announced that Takuya Fujima and other popular illustrators would be used in the game.

At the beginning of the production announcement, Yoshiyuki Takahashi, president and representative director of Broccoli Co. He spoke about card games being a pillar of business for Broccoli and said, "We have been doing our best to develop new titles based on the know-how we have accumulated so far. We believe that this card game will offer a unique experience thanks to its distinctive system.

The production presentation was hosted by voice actress Mio Hoshitani, who appeared in costume as "Kyoka Mogami," a character that appears in the game. The costume was made not only for its appearance, but also for its devices and other details.

Producer Yusuke Nasu explained the characteristics and details of the products.

The atmosphere was relaxed, although there was some tension as the audience listened to producer Nasu's explanations and asked him about points of concern.

Vividz," a fast-paced, experiential TCG, depicts the activities of girls invited to a VR game called "Vividz" through a trading card game. The five main characters in the game are Kyoka Mogami, Rei Amagaki, Laburi Tsukikoi, Maria Mefuki, and Sherry Violet. The characters are designed by manga artist and illustrator Takuya Fujima.

The interesting thing about the concept of the illustration work for this work is that for the five main characters, there is a team of card illustrators dedicated to Takuya Fujima's artwork, and the card illustrations are created in a style similar to that of the world of animation. The illustrations for the sub-characters, called "streamers," will be created by illustrators from various genres, and at the presentation, KAWASUMI, FUJI Choko, and HIMESAKI Yuzuru were introduced. Kougado Studio was also credited for art direction.

The game system is a speed competition in which the first player to complete three missions wins. This system replicates the world view and system of the VR game in the film. The number of cards in a constructed deck is 50 to 70, and up to four cards with the same name can be included. The appeal of this system is the sense of speed with which many cards run around the field by drawing a large number of cards, up to 10 cards each turn. Massive draw means that players may worry about running out of library, but there is also a gimmick to recover the number of cards in the deck. Another highlight of the game is the "Accelerator" system, which allows for a major turnaround.

As for the product development schedule, the first booster pack "Cyber: Genesis" will be released on August 11, 2022 (Thursday, national holiday), at 385 yen per pack (6 cards) (tax included), with a total of 80 types.

On the same day, a Start Deck featuring Kyoka Mogami and Rei Tenpyo (54 cards, 18 types each) will also be released for 1,760 yen each (tax included). The cards in the Start Deck will be included only in this deck and will not be included in booster packs.

Thereafter, the second booster pack will be released in November 2022, followed by the first extra pack in December 2022. Thereafter, the booster packs will be released every three months and the extra packs every six months in a release cycle.

In addition, various advance promotions are planned in preparation for the launch. The highlight will be the convenience store printing of beta cards for hands-on experience. The beta cards will be printed at FamilyMart, Poplar Group, and Lawson stores nationwide from the day of the presentation, and visitors will be able to obtain a printed copy of Kyoka Mogami's beta card for the actual cost of the print (each user will have to cut the card into pieces to use it). Maria Meibuki on June 10 (Fri.), Laburi Tsukikoi on July 1 (Fri.), and Sherry Violet on July 22 (Fri.).

A nationwide trial event is scheduled to begin on Sunday, May 15, 2022, and visitors will receive both beta starters, Kyoka Mogami and Rei Tenmyo. For those who can't wait, an Early Access Campaign will be held, and after April 29, 2022 (Friday, national holiday), a beta starter will be given away with a reservation of 3,000 yen or more for related products.

At the presentation, "LINK Vividz," a web-based battle system that allows users to play against each other at home using actual cards over the Internet, was also announced.

As for future peripheral developments, various plans are said to be in the works, including an official YouTube program, the production of a drama CD, a linked project to increase the number of popular characters based on sub-character popularity votes, and a plan to train "Naviko," the official navigator illustrated by Kikkaiki-sensei.

Personally, I was curious to see how the "Shippo" system, which allows players to switch between missions to change the way the deck moves, and the "Shippo Experience," which allows players to develop cards by drawing a large number of cards, will work. Another interesting aspect of the system is that the card illustrations are created by a team of artists who match Takuya Fujima's designs. Incidentally, I felt that Mr. Fujima's illustrations were very focused on the stomach.

The presentation of "Vividz," a fast-paced TCG, was surprisingly full of exciting announcements. We look forward to more developments in the future.
