The key to this season's anisong is "songs" and "jazz-like music"! DJ Hiroyuki Deguchi selected 10 ani-songs for spring + α. "Just shut up and listen to ani-songs! in 2022 Spring".

Hello to all 10 million anime fans across Japan. This is Hiroyuki Deguchi, a wandering bassist and DJ. As the new season's anime releases start to roll out, I come out of nowhere to pick 10 songs for the column, "Just Shut Up and Listen to Anime Songs! The time has come for "Just Shut Up and Listen to Anime Songs!

Thanks to your support, this column has been running for five years now!

I never thought I would be able to continue this long. Thank you very much! Since we've been compiling anime songs by cool since 2017, we thought that five years would make us more documented, so we looked up what 10 anime songs were selected for the spring of 2017.

These are the 10 songs selected from the Spring 2017 anime! I see!

I'm filled with a feeling of "this work is already 5 years old?" I am filled with a feeling of "this work is already 5 years old? The criteria for selection should not have changed that much, but I was a little surprised to find myself selecting songs from Aikatsu and iM@S. It is interesting to look back like this, and I would like to do an anisong retrospective at some point.

So, from here, I'm going to turn back the clock to the year 2022 and select 10 anime songs from the spring-cool anime productions currently airing!

Here are the 10 songs from this season!

There were so many great songs this season that I was very worried. The theme for this year's selection was "song. I chose songs with singing ability, distinctive voices, etc., in which singing is the center of the song. Music is music because of "song" after all, so we hope you will keep that in mind as you continue reading.

KAGUYA-sama wa narusarasai -Ultra Romantic-" OP "GIRI GIRI

OP "GIRI GIRI/feat. by Masayuki Suzuki, Suu

In the first season "Love Dramatic feat. Rokka Ihara" and the second season "DADDY! DADDY! DO! feat. Airi Suzuki", "Kaguya-sama ga Tsurenai wo Kakerasai" has been opening with a duet by Masayuki Suzuki, who also welcomes female singers. This time, too, a duet song by Masayuki Suzuki enlivens the work.

Generally, the theme song is renewed when the airing season changes, so it is really rare to have the same artist in charge of the theme song for three consecutive seasons. The reason for this continuity is that the work and the music match to the point where it is inconceivable that anyone other than Masayuki Suzuki could take on the world view of the anime work with the music. Masayuki Suzuki's vocals seem to have a subtle sense of distance and a bird's-eye view of coolness in the game of love, as well as in the adult love scenes between a man and a woman.

The charm of this area is well linked to the essence of the anime work, which is probably why he has been in charge of the theme song for three seasons.

BIRDIE WING -Golf Girls' Story

OP "Venus Line/Kami Hirose

It is a fresh surprise that the leading figure in the development of Japanese music in the 1990s, Kamie Hirose, has more affinity with anime than singing an anime song. It is similar to the feeling I had when Masayuki Suzuki was used for "Kaguya-sama ga Kesshirasai" (The Master Wants to Tell His Tales), where the song and the anime were perfectly matched.

The singer's singing ability is unrivaled by any other singer, and his voice has tremendous individuality. There are many vocalists with distinctive voices that you can tell who is singing at first listen, but not many vocalists can connect their voice to a song. There is a song for the song and the song for the song, and the light ensemble of 1990s J-Pop has been brushed up into a modern version, giving it a more glamorous look that is supremely cool.

With this album, I am super excited to see more of Kami Hirose in the anime song world.

Skeleton Knight, Now Going Out to Another World

OP "Aha, My Romantic Road / PelleK

This song also has strong vocals anyway. The singer's overwhelming vocal ability as well as his musical control of his penetrating high tone voice, which lightly exceeds the limits of the range that a typical male vocalist can produce, cannot be considered a human work. It is not surprising that the singer's body structure (mainly the throat) is specialized for singing, rather than being a good or bad singer.

The singer is PelleK, a Norway-based musician and actor who is known as a genuine anime and anison (animation song) fan, having posted many "sing-along" videos of Japanese anime songs on her YouTube channel.

The song is also a must-listen for its Japanese pronunciation, which is so good that you may not even notice that the singer is a foreigner. The backing music is hard-sounding and the sound pressure is perfect, but PelleK's singing completely outshines the instruments.

I would like to hear this overwhelming song in a live performance someday, not in a video.

Deaimon

OP "Violet / Maaya Sakamoto

Speaking of Maaya Sakamoto, she has recently released songs in a variety of genres and seems to be getting more expressive as the years go by. 2019 broadcast "BEM" opening "Memory of the Universe" showed an adult presence of a type she has never had before, and I thought this trend would head toward a more adult worldview I was surprised at the oblique direction of the current song.

It is not adult or anything like that, but rather an unadorned "Maaya Sakamoto" is there, and that is all that makes the world work.

The simple, simple melody by Shigeru Kishida of Kururi is as clear and transparent as a mirror reflecting Maaya Sakamoto. It is a song that is endlessly gentle, yet it is so gentle that it leaves one with a sense of sadness. It is this kind of song that makes anime songs so deep and interesting, because you can suddenly encounter it.
