Gran Turismo World Series 2022, an e-motorsports world championship from Gran Turismo 7 for PS5/PS4, has announced the outline and video of the event.

Released on March 4, 2022, GT7 is a realistic driving simulator that incorporates all the elements that fans of the series have come to expect and is designed to convey its deep culture and appeal to players with no knowledge of cars or driving.

The world championship that has been held as the "FIA Gran Turismo Championship" will be newly held in 2022 as the "Gran Turismo World Series" in the latest title in the series, "Gran Turismo 7". There will be two championships: the Nations Cup, where players compete against each other in different countries and regions, and the Manufacturers Cup, where players sign a driver contract with a car manufacturer of their choice and compete for victory against other car manufacturers.

The Gran Turismo World Series 2022 can be entered through the "Sports" mode in the Gran Turismo 7 game.

Gran Turismo World Series Nations Cup
The Nations Cup is a championship in which countries and regions are divided to compete for victory. The country/region you belong to is automatically determined from your online ID information.
There are no restrictions on which country/region you drive.
Regions: Europe/Middle East/Africa, North America, Latin America, Asia, and Oceania.

Gran Turismo World Series Manufacturers Cup
The Manufacturers' Cup is a championship in which players sign a driver contract with a car manufacturer of their choice. Players compete against other car manufacturers for victory.
Host region: Europe/Middle East/Africa, North America/Latin America, Asia/Oceania

The Gran Turismo World Series 2022 will be held through online races, live events, and online streaming events.
The "Season 1" online race, a regular points race, will begin on Friday, May 27. The top finishers will compete in the "World Series Showdown" event in July (at the Red Bull Hangar 7 near Salzburg, Austria), along with the top finishers from the 2021 Series World Finals.

This will be followed by an online race "Season 2" and the "World Finals" event in Monaco to determine the annual World Champion. During the season, there will also be three rounds each of the "Nations Cup" and "Manufacturers' Cup" online streaming events, where the top racers from around the world will compete against each other.
