Three demonic gods are back in MODEROID! I assembled Rayearth, Ceres, and Windham from "Magic Knight Rayearth" with effect parts! Taiyuki's Weekend Plastic Modeling Vol. 55

When you are a working adult, you tend to have a lot of plastic models piled up in your busy life. ...... In this series, Yasuyuki Tai, a voice actor who loves robots and plastic models, takes on the challenge of building plastic models on your behalf!

The concept is "even busy working people can make it this far on their weekends off. There are only two rules: bare bones assembly and a production period of one to two days! If you read this series, you will surely find the plastic model you want to build.

So, "Weekend Plastic Model Making by Voice Actor Taiyuki! Let's get started with the 55th issue!

Vol. 55 MODEROID "Rayearth the God of Fire," "Ceres the God of the Sea," and "Windham the God of the Air

Introduced this time is the latest in the "MODEROID" series from Good Smile Company, which has been continuously producing kits of unexpected mecha from a variety of titles! The three items are the demonic gods from "Magic Knight Rayearth," Rayearth the God of Fire, Ceres the God of the Sea, and Windham the God of the Sky!
It is a surprising product development to release three figures at once, but after assembling the three this time, I felt I caught a glimpse of the secret behind the rapid development of the series!

This time, we will take a look at all three demons, with a focus on "Rayearth, God of Fire.

First, let's start with the main character Hikaru Shido, Rayearth, the god of fire.

Rayearth the Flame God

The packaging for all three products is illustrated by Rihiro Yamane.

On the back is an introduction to the contents of the kit.

On the top and bottom lids, there are package illustrations arranged horizontally and vertically.

On both sides are printed images of the completed Rayearth.

The assembly instructions are again in full color and easy to read!

The runners are as shown. The main frame parts such as arms, legs, and body are the same for all three bodies. This configuration is what made the simultaneous release of the three figures such a great accomplishment!

Incidentally, Mr. Aran Moriguchi was in charge of the prototype.

Assembly is very smooth. The joints between the parts have been incorporated into the design to make them as inconspicuous as possible.

The back is equipped with bold flame-shaped wings. This is hot! No, not as flames, but in terms of feeling!

The head decoration and face details have been painted! There are instructions to apply silver stickers on the inside of the clear parts, which reflect brightly.

Several clear parts are also placed on the lower body. The color scheme is mostly reproduced with only the painted parts of the head and the part divisions.

The ankles have an interesting three-finger design, but they also have surprisingly good ground contact.

The mobility of the figure is so excellent that you may wonder if it is a figure at all.

The head is double ball-jointed, and as you can see, it can be moved quite freely.

Both arms can be raised to a horizontal position, but the left shoulder can only be raised to this height due to the armor interfering with it. However, this is not a problem if you use the shoulder rotation.

The shoulder is connected to the torso by a ball joint, so it can rotate and swing.

The shoulders can of course swing back and forth.

The torso is ball-jointed at both the top and bottom of the abdomen, so it can be moved widely. Lateral tilt is like this.

Bending forward and backward.

Rotation is also possible.

The hip joints can be opened up to the point where they hit the waist armor. If there is no armor, this joint can open up to 180°.

The front and rear legs can be opened backward to where they hit the armor, and forward to just under 90 degrees. The legs can be raised a little more if they avoid the armor.

The knees are double-jointed.

Roll and rotate on the thigh.

Ankles are ball-jointed. Fingers can be closed.

There is a roll rotation axis on the second arm.

Elbows can be bent 90°. The forearms can also be rotated. This is a very nice feature for posing.
The wrists are ball-jointed.

The forearms can be equipped with large shields, a feature of Rayearth. Even with such a large shield, the figure can stand without any problem at all.

The flying pose can also be reproduced by using "THE Simple Stand" (sold separately).
The demon god gives the impression of flying around freely in battle rather than fighting on the ground.

Light "Flame of ...

Arrow!"

Left and right wrists come with not only fists but also slap hands.

Hikari "Red lightning--!

A sword as a weapon is also included. The sword is also included, and is pre-painted to a very high level of detail!

Both the left and right handles of the weapon are included.

The left hand can also be replaced with a weapon handle, allowing the sword to be held in both hands.

The large swinging pose is also very powerful with the flames on her back.

The combination with the flat hand also makes for a cool pose.
What kind of action would you have the robot take?

Rayearth is taking a rest after putting down the passenger. She looks so cool even when she is on one knee.

Now, let's move on to the next three figures we will introduce here.

Ceres, God of the Sea

The second one is Ceres, the sea god.

As you can see, the design is based on a dragon motif.

Ceres has large movable wings on her back.

She also has a tail, a feature not found in other demi-gods.

The tail is ball-jointed in three places, including the base, which contributes to the expressiveness of the figure.

Upper body. The arms are the same as those of Rayearth. The face is pre-painted. There are also a large number of clear parts in a variety of colors, which are also available as pre-painted parts.

More than half of the legs have the same shape as those of Rayearth.

The ocean "waterーー dragon!"

Celes poses with her torso, shoulders, and other joints stretched out.

Sea "Blue tornado!

When she spreads her wings wide, she looks like a dragon itself.

Celes' weapon is a rapier with a slender blade. It has an image of an attack that pierces the enemy like fencing rather than slashing.

The blade and other parts of this sword have been painted.

Celes approaches the enemy and tries to thrust her rapier.

A demon god is cool from any angle. ......

He was once fighting by cutting down his enemies, wasn't he?

■Windham, god of the sky

The third figure introduced is Windham, the sky god Windham, who is piloted by Hououji Kaze. The overall design seems to be based on a bird motif.

Parts from the arms to the wrists, thighs and ankles share the same shape as those of Rayearth.

It has huge wings on its back. As one would expect from a sky god.

As with Rayearth and Ceres, the head and face parts are pre-painted. Clear parts are placed on the chest.

The parts on the front of the waist are also common to all three figures. The color scheme of the toes is different from Rayearth and is painted. So, the Windham can be assembled to reproduce the color scheme perfectly.

I didn't realize how common the parts of the three bodies were until I assembled them as a plastic kit.

The range of motion is almost the same as Rayearth and Ceres. The wings can be spread wide. Still, as you can see, it can be left standing naturally.

Wind "azure gale-!"

Windham also comes with left and right flat hands, just like Rayearth.

Wind "Heki no oh,

Whirlwind!"

The figure has a good range of motion, allowing for a variety of poses as well as reproductions of scenes from the play.

Windham's weapon is a sword with a slightly wider blade. The large sword is a nice contrast to the graceful Kaze.

Windham can also hold the sword with both hands without any problem.

Windham wields a large sword with one hand. She fights while protecting and healing her friends.

The three MODEROID figures can really be enjoyed as action figures, so you will want to pose them as much as possible!

■Effect items

Three types of effect items: flame effect, wave effect, and wind effect! Just by using these items, you can add even more realism to the poses of the three demi-gods!

Even though the colors of the background paper have been changed to match the effects, the image looks as if it is covered in flames!

Wave Effects and Ceres.

This is Wind Effect and Windham.

If you display all three of them together with the effects, you can enjoy a powerful display! You can enjoy a powerful display!

We are sure that there are other kits as well as this one that can be used in a similar way, so please try using effect parts as much as you like.

Plus a little extra effort!

We have introduced three figures at once, but part of our job in this series is to suggest small tasks that can be done over the weekend. So, I painted only the red part of Layers' exterior with Gaianotes Premium Pearl Red!

It may be a little hard to see in the picture, but the shimmer of the pearl particles in the areas exposed to light gives a nice finish.

The red parts of the Rayearth kit are made of multiple materials, and in order to avoid damage, I painted only the parts made of PS material.

Can you see the pearl particles on the curved surface of the shoulder armor? The red parts are sprayed with Premium Pearl Red as is, so it's very easy to do.

Posing with painted Rayearth!

Flame effects still look good on her.

The shield also has a large area, so it was worthwhile to paint it.

So, how was this article, in which we introduced six different items at once?

I hope that not only robot fans, but also those who like "Magic Knight Rayearth" and have watched the anime and manga will try these items.

By the way, the three demonic gods of "Rayearth" combine, don't they? That's right, the MODEROID series will be commercializing that as well.

Here is a photo of the "Combined Rayearth" prototype that was on display at a recent event.

Looking at the three figures introduced here, it is easy to imagine that this combined Rayearth will be released with a high level of perfection.

I wonder if the fine details such as the face and sword will be pre-painted as well!

I will wait for further information with great anticipation!

See you soon!
