Both players and spectators were enthusiastic about the first attended offline tournament in a long time! Rainbow Six Siege "RJL 2022" Report

The Season 1 Playoff Stage 2 of the X-Moment Rainbow Six Japan League 2022 (RJL 2022), the top league in Japan for Rainbow Six Siege sponsored by NTT Docomo, was held on June 4 and 5, 2022, for the first time in two years. The event was held on June 4 and 5, 2022, at the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building Triangle Plaza.

Although the games were played from 8:00 a.m. to a maximum of 11:00 p.m. on both days, many fans at the venue cheered the matches of Japan's top teams with loud stick balloons and subdued cheers in order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection.

In addition to the sale of official tournament goods, each team set up a booth to sell official merchandise, a scene that could only be seen offline, and in between matches, an event to throw T-shirts signed by the players was held to entertain the fans watching the games.

In addition, the players walked around the booths of each team and in the aisles between games, and spectators shouted "Go for it! and "Please win!" and some even gave each other a "goofy" kiss.

The two teams that advanced to the finals after two days of fierce competition were CYCLOPS athlete gaming (CAG), which won the previous year's "RJL2021" by winning the league championship with a perfect record, and KAWASAKI SCARZ (SCARZ), an up-and-coming team established in March of last year. (SCARZ), an up-and-coming team established just last March. The final was a clash between these two teams.

The first map was Oregon, and it was a seesaw game with the teams trading rounds until 5-5, but in the end, CAG, the attacker, took two rounds in a row to win the first map.

SCARZ, who had no more time left, struggled early on in the second map, a high-rise building, due to CAG's surprise attacks, but once they showed solid coordination, they caught the flow and took back the game after a 4-2 change of defense.

In the first round at Villa on the final map, which went down to the last round, SCARZ members on the defensive side were killed one after another, leaving Taiyo alone against three opponents remaining, and he faced a desperate crisis. Wqsyo1, who had saved his team's life in the past by making bold plays in critical situations, exploded, getting 5 consecutive rounds with over 10 kills, and almost no CAG counterattack with a score of 7-1, winning their first championship.

After the final match, SCARZ leader Pyon said, "I think the era of CAG's dominance is over. I won't complain anymore." He commented that the rating was complete. Wqsyo1, who played very well, said that his victory was the result of the combination of his usual countermeasures and effective moves.

Taiyo, who survived a 1-on-3 situation in the early stages of the third map with a series of kills, said, "I don't remember how I did it," and Pyon praised him, "I was deeply moved that Taiyo, who is always so lazy (laughs), could make his first ace on this big stage. I was deeply moved that Taiyo, who is always so nay-saying (laughs), could make his first ace on this big stage.
