This collaboration was realized after Ken Matsudaira himself posted a video of himself playing "Monster Hunter Rise" on YouTube. He recorded "Matsuzuken Samba II" to help boost the launch of "Monster Hunter Rise: Sun Break.

The lyrics of "Matsuzuken Samba II," one of the most popular songs in the series, were arranged for Sun Break. The song is filled with elements of "Monster Hunter Rise: Sun Break," including the names of weapons such as "Hammer," "Hunting Flute," and "Great Sword," as well as monster names such as "Mel Xena" and "Lunar Garrison.

During the filming, Matsudaira took on the challenge of playing four different roles: office worker, student, rapper, and charlatan, and wore four different costumes. In the role of the charlatan, he was able to respond well to the director's difficult instruction to "put on a flirtatious smile. When struggling with the role of the rapper, he commented, "It's not easy," as he pretended to hum the lyrics.

What is your favorite scene? Interview with Ken Matsudaira

Q. How did you feel about singing and filming "Matsudaira Sun Break"?
A. The lyrics were difficult, or rather, I had a bit of trouble because of the distinctive names of the characters (monsters). I think the director's instructions were good.

Q. What costumes are you interested in and what are your favorites for the upcoming shoot?
A. I am looking forward to playing roles I have never played before. (At the time of the interview) I don't know how it will look like yet, but I think the charlatans will be interesting.

Q. What is your favorite lyric of the song "Matsuken sun break" and what is the highlight of the music video?
A. The chorus. This sun break is about hunting, so "Hunt~! Hunt~! I like the momentum of the song. Also, the big sword was well done. It wasn't so heavy because of the trick.

Q. You played the role of a student this time.
A. Club activities, I guess. I really liked sports. I remember that I was more involved in club activities than in studying. I was a swimmer in the club and was pulled toward soccer.

Q. What do you think is the appeal of "Monster Hunter"?
A. I think the appeal of "Monster Hunter" is that you get stronger and stronger with the help of various people. The more you know about the game, the more skills you acquire, and the more fun you have, the more you get absorbed in the game.

■Ken Matsudaira, actor and singer
Born in 1953. Born in Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture, he made his debut in 1975 in the TV series "Zatoichi Monogatari - Shinju Aiya Bushi.
