According to the report, Kazuki Takahashi <real name, Kazumasa, 60> was found floating with snorkeling equipment attached off the coast of Nago City, Okinawa Prefecture, at around 10:30 a.m. on July 6, and was later confirmed dead.

The circumstances of his death are currently being investigated in detail by the Japan Coast Guard and police.

In 1981, Takahashi submitted a manga "ING! Love Ball" under the name "Masahajime" which won the Shogakukan New Comic Award, and the work was published in "Weekly Shōnen Sunday" and debuted as a manga artist. In 1996, he began serializing "Yu-Gi-Oh!
In 1998, a TV animation series was broadcast on the TV Asahi network, and in 2000, "Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters" began airing on the TV Tokyo network. The series has continued since then, and the latest work, "Yu-Gi-Oh Go Rush! is currently airing from April 2022. Yu-Gi-Oh Official Card Game" became such a huge hit that it became a social phenomenon.

He was also actively involved in the "Shonen Jump+" in 2019, including the publication of "SECRET REVERSE," a read-aloud work about Iron Man and Spider-Man, as part of a collaborative project between the editorial department and Marvel Comics.
