Kaina of the Great Snow Sea" is a large-scale project by the strongest tag team of Tsutomu Nibei, the original author of "Knights of Sidonia" and "BLAME!", and Polygon Pictures, which has animated these works with overwhelming quality. The manga by Tsutomu Nibei (original story) and Itokai Takemoto (manga) is currently being serialized in "Monthly Shonen Sirius".

The teaser visual and PV of the TV anime that have been unveiled this time foreshadow a world where the earth is being lost due to the "Great Snow Sea," and a boy named Kaina, who lives in a place called "Tenkan" that extends far above the giant trees, and a princess named Liliha, who lives in the harsh environment of the "Great Snow Sea" covering the ground, meet and have an epic adventure that changes the world. The content of the film foreshadows the epic adventure that will change the world.

The cast includes Yoshimasa Hosoya as Kaina, a boy who lives in the "Heavenly Membrane," and Riie Takahashi as Liliha, a princess who lives in the "Great Snow Sea.
